If we sell Klose then it will be apparent that the Board are not sincere in their desire to build a team worthy of challenging for Prem whatever the price. This is going to be a very testing time for fans.......

Good luck to Lafferty - clearly AN could not/would not get the best out of him. Am I the only one who thinks that there is a touch of arrogance being portrayed by our manager in Laffertys case? How many strikers has AN disposed of now? RvW, Grabban, Hooper, Lafferty, anybody else? Must be a record of some kind?

All this shouting about Lafferty, we were told when we bought him that he comes with baggage, NI fans were all shouting about him yet in the Euros, he never got on the pitch after the first game, does nobody else find that a bit of an eye opener?

I'm not sure I'd flog AN for getting rid of players who he feels can't do a job for him. None of those players were acquired by him. And I think we can mostly agree that of those 4, only Lafferty looks the sort who could play one up top. Lafferty has not been particulaly impressive when he has had chances and I'm sure like Becchio we will never quite know why they seemingly cannot get a look in even though we are struggling in their position. Maybe there is a hint of arrogance, but I think he would be professional enough to put aside anything personnal for the good of the team. i think a manager needs to be strong and if a player won't follow instructions then a manager needs to be strong enough to say "yous nae gonna plae then".
On the other hand, I definitely don't understand his retention and ongoing playing of some players. Retaining Whittaker made some limited sense as cover, but only upto the point that I thought he would only get 20 minutes here or there If Pinto was injured and Martin crocked in a game. He shouldn't be starting games, he seems to be getting worse!

    Bah!

I think the point with Lafferty is that NA bought him as a wide left option which I think he was playing in italy. He was very rash, whole hearted, but ultimately not very good on his early showings. His goals in qualify with NI made him look perhaps better than he was/is but he is like Becchio in so much as he gets better for every game he doesn't play. Holt only knows how bad his attitude or training must have been last season to not get a look in when we were struggling so badly, the same applies this season and especially the Birmingham debacle. Thing is I think it's been obvious that we wanted rid and he wanted out, I just don't think it's been so simple to find anyone who would pay as much as we are.

    Bah!

See Saturday for evidence! (He had me believing tail end of 2 seasons ago that he could do a job at this level, most of the rest of his time at the club he as been confirming he can't at PL level.)

    Bah!

Is Hal Robson-Kanu still without a club? Presumably wages would be the big sticking point there?

Blimey - I'd take Nwankwo Kanu instead of Bendtner !! Now there is a donkey (Dave).

I wonder what he'd be like in the Championship. He's got build and target man potential. He's not good enough for a top team. He did score a fair few for his country. Maybe Championship is more his level.

I agree with you, and not a fan, he was useless for Arsenal. Wages would be pretty substantial for whoever takes him on.
