I don't care. I wouldn't trade our history for any club in the world as I'm sure you wouldn't trade QPR's for any team in the world. We have our rivalries with West Ham, Arsenal and Spurs (as well as Liverpool more recently), you have yours with Brentford and Fulham etc. The experiences different clubs have with their fans is what makes a club unique, not owners or who has won what how many times etc as Liverpool and United fans would have people believe.

Liverpool had a great team once ... I used to love watching them on the box ... untouchable before the machine took over ... they like others have been trying to get it back ever since. You really have no idea what went wrong have you? Before you say or think it ... i know things change and that was then. Mainstreams: Marketing a football team worldwide takes skill and planning and a black art that fools everyone sadly Chelsea are that nowadays in their quest for supremacy as many things they forgot about one thing: Monsters need feeding. I'll be honest I haven't. But when you played Watford last season I didn't hear any signing. However I'm sure QPR fans are usually in full voice, as are the Shed and MH, sadly at the Bridge the West and East stands don't get vocally involved.
No. Traditionally our rivals have only been Leeds, Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal and more recently Liverpool and to a lesser extent Manchester United due to the various title clashes and games with them dating back to the 94 FA Cup final. There has always been that animosity with Milwall because of the hooliganism etc, but rivalry isn't on the scale as the others listed. Who knows? Maybe other rivalries will develop in time you never know, these days Leeds are small fry but I have always hated them and still do. Whereas I think our rivalry with United for instance doesn't go beyond success on the pitch, whereas with Liverpool it does. If Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham etc were in the Ryman League we would still hate them, that for me is what a true rivalry is. When I went to Wembley semi FA Cup final a couple of years back one guy on the train found out West Ham had won and it almost ruined his day.
How old are you mate? I ask because, although I recognise that you guys have left us behind over the last 10 years or so, I can remember going to QPR - Chelsea games in the 70s and 80s when the rivalry was huge. Admittedly, it always seemed that your rivalry with Fulham was nastier and perhaps a little friendlier with us, but it was still a very strong rivalry!! Just listening in the background to Talk Sport about how Malaga are marketing themselves to rival Barca and Real (92k and 74K fans each game) .. they believe they can start off another machine on the Costa del Sol to mainstream the fan base there mainly English/Spanish without taste ... quote "We could be another Chelsea" ... I rest my case ... if only you knew what marketing and business minds think
i think its true that we were reasonably big rivals in the early 90's and before that when we could hold our own but sadly due to us going futher dow the depths of the football league and chelsea rising we are not as strong rivals, certainly not positionally! matches will still be hated i think and hold more than most matches...
Sorry about that. I haven't been a Chelsea fan as long as SW6 or Ginger for instance but long enough to have seen us finish midtable in the top flight and bottom half, I am thankful I haven't yet had to experience a relegation as a Chelsea fan. To be honest in the days of the 70s and 80s there was always an element of not liking anyone, whether it be another London club or Sunderland or Man City. Chelsea are Spurs 2nd most hated team (in the eyes of a few 1st) after Arsenal with West Ham being 3rd. Spurs are and pretty much always have been our number 1 hated team, with Arsenal and West Ham not too far behind them. The Chelsea fans that know that started taking me to games, have been fans since the late 60s and early 70s and they would say pretty much the same thing. I also don't believe in this being left behind thing. Rivals are rivals irrespective of position. Chelsea fans still hate Leeds and Spurs and always will do. United fans hate Liverpool and always will do. Everton fans hate Liverpool and always will do. Arsenal fans hate Spurs and always will do. City fans hate United fans and always will do. I can guarantee none of the above would change irrespective of what division they are in. Hatred of teams is passed on from generation to generation. I like the Fulham games, not because it is local but I like to see Fulham and QPR (Fulham moreso because of friends etc) do well. I am proud that we have three teams from the 3rd smallest borough in London representing the Premier League and I feel it is something all 3 clubs in H&F should celebrate. We have three teams in the PL within 2 and a half miles of each other here, that surely has to be more than any other area.
Do yourself a favour mate and try to get to Loftus Rd on Oct 23rd. I think you'll get a taste for what the rivalry is really like!!
