Problem is with him going to Torino his international career is going to take a huge hit. If he had gone to Sunderland at least he would have been in the public eye. Players can play well even for poor teams.

On the other hand, he may impress one of the bigger clubs in Italy opening up more options next summer... It's an interesting switch for Hart and one I think more English players should do.

Harrison Reed put in one of the performances of the season - of any Saints player - in December '14 at home to Everton. And winning that game was hugely significant as it stopped the bad run that we'd been on. He also put in a handful of other solid performances. He then basically disappeared of the radar altogether last season.

Some people say his performances for the u-23's haven't been up to scratch, but for me that shouldn't matter. He is able to 'step up' and has proved it. This warrants another chance. I think we have others who will also be able to shine, should they be thrown in at the deep end. I'm thinking Hesketh, Stephens, and McCarthy.

    Surely not!

Would have thought if he was coming to Premiership one of the 'big' teams would snap him up

Although in terms of quality it would be a great signing, I don't think we should spend that sort of money on an area we already have too many players in. Perhaps if we offloaded a few before hand it would be more viable. Would be better spend on either a striker or AM.

West Brom bidding for him, and him actually joining them is very different.

I don't think we have too many players in DM at all, quite the opposite in fact. If he's available, and willing to go to a smaller club, we should definitely be in for him as he'd certainly improve our first 11 imo. What price is being quoted?

Edit - We are talking about William Carvalho here aren't we?

Well seeing as he is only 27 (!) years old, we could still yet sign him...

Edit lol @ how many clubs thought he was actually the age he said he was.

    Yeah, thankfully not Ricardo haha.

We have Clasie, Romeu, JWP, Davis, Höjbjerg and Harrison reed that are all CM. Hopefully we won't be using the diamond too much longer so we would probably be using 2 CMs. We already have 6.
Although you could well argue we could do with a more defensively minded central midfielder, they'd still operate in one of two central midfield spots so we should really offload 1 or 2 of the players mentioned before if we want to bring in another CM.

Just my opinion but that is a lot in wages for some players which will get very little game time even with Europa league this season.

Not good enough for Arsenal. Good enough for Bayern.

Someone has got something wrong somewhere there.
