Sea no evil hear no evil was very funny, stir crazy.....willy wonka, blazing saddles and that's just what I remember of the top of my head... Another sad loss this year
He was 83, not a bad innings for his generation but to be honest I thought he was already dead. Great childhood memories of some of his films as FLT said, but he was never one of my favourites as I found his film personas quite irritating as an adult.
Talking of irritating film personas, just watched Ben Stiller in The Secret life of Walter Mitty - never been a fan of Ben Stiller because his characters usually just annoy me, but I thought he was brilliant in The Secret Life which he also directed. All round top film, great cast, great soundtrack and amazing cinematography. Quirky and different, I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't a total cynic.
I've recommended that film to so many people. It's utterly gorgeous in every possible way. One thing I particularly like is that I'd defy anyone watching it for the first time to predict accurately the next ten minutes of plot anywhere in the film. Nothing about it goes as expected. Vin
Bollocks to that. He should get a not606er to do car karaoke with him each month. Enough of us meet up each game!
I'm The same with stiller. Jim Carey even more so. I've not watched that film because of that, so I'll give it a try.
Jim Carey for me too! Apart from in the Truman Show, which I think is excellent, and casts Carey in the lead role perfectly. I think it is the out and out manic comedy roles that turn me off because they're all basically the same person, and if you met them in real life you'd give them a slap.
Agreed 100% except I'd add Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to the list of "A short list of films Jim Carrey is bearable in".
Had that film for over a year and still not got around to watching it, mainly because of Jim Carrey's reputation for over-acting. However, in films where his undoubted comedic skills come into play, he is practically unmatched. For example, I can watch Lemony Snickets: A Sequence of Unfortunate Events time and again. Carrey is superb in it. please log in to view this image
