Ridiculous that Hamilton managed to get 3rd place today from the back of the grid. Shows the lack of competition amongst the field in F1 these days and how superior Mercedes are. Sure, you'd expect he'd recover but not to that extent. Especially in previous eras where he might have nabbed a few points but would never have got on the podium.

Then Raikkonen's swipe at Verstappen after them having a bit of fisticuffs on track ... you can't help but feel it's a sour and bitter old man having a go at the quick young kid. Guess he has a small point regarding on track behaviour but young Kimi would've just given as good as he got, it's the way he's coming across. Time to hang it up fella if you can't deal with it and it's all getting a but much for yous ... still like him as a character though as he's funny as ****

“It’s always been my dream to play for Hull Town,” the former Liverpool striker told Soccer on Sunday. “I’m nearly sure I spent an amazing weekend here many years ago. I remember accidentally driving my Ferrari into a lake while texting Noel Gallagher. A kind local towed me out. Nice food, nice people. Might have been Leeds actually, now that I think of it.”

In fairness i expected it befoe the off but he was gifted what 5 places at safety car the red flag and another 4/5 by the accidents. Perez, magnusson, raikkonen, verstappek and vettel all ****ed it.

So the reality is we only saw him pass 3/4 people and mostly on drs too... sailed by the alonsos and hulkenburgs.

Basically the best pass was that verstappen one round the outside to get on the inside line next corner... take drs out of this race and how many passes woyld there be?

On kimi... sorry but verstappen ****ed it twice.

His position in corner one was idiocy and so was kimis btw...

His jinking is weaving and i hope he gets put in a wall for it next time. The stewards seem alnost afraid to punish what is clearly reactive driving and weaving.

Tbf to me i haven't seen it yet, heard it on the radio in the car where it sounded like kimi was being a little bitch but a funny bitch

I did call first lap carnage though and it helped Hamilton yeh but drs is just legalised cheating always has been and takes most of the true skill out of racing and it shows the general standard of driving i guess when there's no real challenge to someone like Hamilton getting around cars, a lot of drivers just seem 'happy to be here guys' with their tenuous sponsorship and government gifted money rather than actually ambitious to do things in the sport nowadays

Im not going to denegrade hamilton one bit but the massive accident for magnusson lead to 5 guys pitting under safety car abd then a red flag was dropped to rebuild the tyre wall. As a result hg amilton could pull into garage in 5th place with alonso and magnusson in front of him i think

They all changed tyres? I think so.

In actualy fact him not getting second is the shock... i was thinking hey he could easily win this from here...

If he'd stayed near the back, people would have complained about F1 being boring due to a lack of overtaking

true. I think i'd liked to have seen a bit more form him but the ferrari's and verstappen took themselve sout so he really had little to do for 3rd. If they'd been ahead of him on the red flag it could have been an entertaining end to the race. As it was the last 10/15 laps of a 44 lap race were largely uneventful... mind you the crashes at the start were front loaded drama i suppose.

I dunno about that. I remember an era where Williams could ease to any victory they wanted. An era where Benetton were so much faster than anyone else. A few era where McLaren laughed at everyone else's feeble attempts. Years when to win you had to drive a Ferrari. An era where red bull were several seconds a lap faster than anyone else.

Schumacher won from deep in the pack one year when Ferrari were faster than anyone else.

The dominant team changes but one team being much faster than anyone else is the story of modern F1. The transition years between dominant teams are fun but fleeting.

No discredit to Hamilton he did extremely well but he had luck on his side and happens to be driving a car that is better than anyone else's (besides his team mate).

Nope but if true, it's a bloody joke. He's not proven to be a captain for Liverpool yet, never mind a good one!

Funny if he's taken it from Rooney though :)
