Then I hope Isco is more poised/steady on his feet with a football then he
    is with a phone-cam.

    It would fit though.
Levy planned a 3 yr flight for peanuts that would offset the cost of getting
Isco in 2016. Did the flight itinery include a stop-over in Liege ??

The way this transfer window is going, to put it in the words of David Bowie :

This is not rock and roll, this genocide.

But hey ho, at this rate Pochettino will have the strongest first/second sides
in the PL ... for five a side games.

The entertainment value of this thread gets better and better <laugh>

HIAG will be off to the VDV Clinic if we do sign Isco, whoever he is. <cool>

So our current bench is looking like:

    Vorm
    Davies
    Wimmer
    Wanyama
    Son
    N'Koudou
    Janssen

On paper, that is deceptively strong. I say deceptive because there's a ****eload of talent sitting there, but a distinct lack of options through the middle. If we're up against layers of parked buses and struggling to score (as is likely to be the case in most games this year now that we've lost the element of surprise), there is no creative spark there, no imagination. No-one who can offer anything different other than more pace or more strength - attributes which are useless when the entire opposition team is goalside and facing you anyway.

All of our creative 'sparks' currently operate in the '3' behind Kane. All of their replacements are less inventive and less tactically nuanced. Someone like Isco would be perfect but it isn't going to happen, not unless Luka and Gareth climb to the top of the Bernabeu and threaten to jump unless he gets on the next KoudouAir flight to London.

    N'KOUDOU FOR N'JIE?

Sky sources understand Tottenham are waiting for Marseille to complete their loan arrangement for Clinton N'Jie before confirming the arrival of Georges-Kevin N'Koudou.

Really?! I had no idea that was the reason behind the hold-up! This explains everything - the moon landing, UFO's, crop circles, Donald Trump...it all makes perfect sense now! Gee whizz, thanks SSN :emoticon-0137-clapp

I'm not celebrating yet. Even if it happens. We still need cover for Dembele.

If Isco and Adrien Silva come, then I'll be happy. If Silva goes to Leicester........

I agree it is a strong bench despite the fact it has the weaknesses you pointed out. However the reality is that we will probably have minimum of 3 injuries at any given time of the season, we were just lucky last year. Hiistorically we have normally had way more than this. Can you imagine us going into a champions league match with 5 injuries and the bench we would have to put out? It would be a joke.
I'm with Roo on this, there must be dealings going on that we don't know about.
But then this is Spurs and we will probably end up with an Andy Booth loan signing rather than Isco!

I know that we've missed Dembele and that a like-for-like understudy would be great but let's not forget that a big part of the reason that we've looked so disjointed and unable to knit midfield and attack together has had a lot to do with Eriksen, Alli, Kane and Lamela all under-performing to varying degrees. None of them have played that well so far (Lamela prob the pick of the bunch so far just cos he's scored a goal, got an assist and has his usual effort and commitment etc but he's still not a player you would expect to break down a top Premiership team looking to defend).

Not saying it's not an issue - just that it has been exacerbated by all our forward players being relatively poor.
