There have been 3 games played this season, hardly a good time to make mass changes to the squad based on form
Smalling is currently England's best centre back..... By quite some distance. I honestly never used to rate him but he's come on leaps and bounds in the last 2 years. I always thought out of the two of them, Phil Jones would end up being the better player and Smalling would end up lower end PL. seems the opposite will probably end up true
I said the same thing on our board (United) last December, he always looked well behind Jones then suddenly blossomed. Maybe it was LvG or maybe he just got a bit older and a run in the team I don't know, but the improvement was fast and remarkable. Still think Jones can be a good un once he gets over his injury problems, he has plenty of time on his side.
There's still definitely a player in there with Jones. Might take a move away to realise his potential. Hopefully we stay up this year and can take him of your hands next season at a bargain price if he doesn't get much game time this year
Whether Davies deserves a call up or not its clearly not related to current form when Hart, Walcott and Antonio gets a call up. Allardyce must have received one hell of a VIP day at the London Stadium last week.
The more chances someone is given the better they become I suppose, but you have to get those chances (some do and some don't, and that's probably the argument). I don't care about watching England, though it would be nice for a Hull City player to make the squad, increases their value too. Unfashionable clubs are unlikely to be considered much though, that's the way it's probably always been.
Dumbest thing i've read. The whole argument against England is we should be playing IN FORM players. The form of those players currently can only be judged based off of 3 games. These are meaningless friendlies, best time for Sam to experiment.
I wouldn't pick any **** from Arsenal. They're all soft ponces. Theo - soft as ****, always injured. Ox - Ditto Brylcream -Ditto England hopefuls Walcott, Chambers, Ox, Gibbs & Brylcream started 29 games between them last season. Non-committed & waste of a space ponces.
3 games isn't 'form'. That is my point. If he can keep it up for a few months then he'll get his place.
Agree with what truly indicates form , many of the shoe in England players have barely had form tho , I hoped for more at the Euros as quite a few nailed on shizerstains had sort of retired since the last debacle .... Sadly theFAs choice of prehistoric managers doesn't ever help
I agree with you on what constitutes form. However, we could win our next 6 games, with Davies man of the match in everyone, conceding no goals thanks to his heroics, and he still will not get picked.
Allardyce will have learnt very quickly whilst they pacify him to do as he told when he is told and pick who he is told to pick.
England (not Allardyce) England, won't ever pick a Hull City player. They see it as an admittance of being small time. The England manager is nothing more than a puppet. A very well paid puppet.
Davies has been in form since he got back into the City team last season. He's looked good against everyone he's faced.
