I've been busy all weekend, knew we'd bid but had no idea it had supposedly been accepted. The sky report gave the impression that it had just happened. I've read that we should not expect any deal to go through until deadline day as his club need a replacement lined up. Spoilsports!
We've been in suspense all transfer window, I'm sure we can manage another few days of hell and stress!
Came in as a late sub, his agent and the Sevilla president stated he'd be welcome to stay at Sevilla but it was an 'important' offer. Apparently the lad is desperate for a crack at England and has been for some years.
Don't blame him. Place do be if you carry a physical presence. Thought we a 'bid accepted' mid week though? I was just making the point how the press are always miles ahead with what they report. Can't have been a bid accepted midweek as it's protocol to not play him, he'd have been over here. Tells me a bid wasn't accepted before the match day squad was submitted. So when we had a bid accepted, we'll have actually been in talks.
Didn't Moyes confused rm the bid, but stopped short of saying accepted. That's what I'm going off. Valencia want him but seems he's set on England.
Agreed. Last Wednesday according to the press. I'm more inclined to believe Moyesy too. Just wish the press would stop jumping the gun, because half a fan base jump with them, a day later the club is getting slagged off by their own for dragging it's heels when fact is it's just people being gulible, the reality is the transfer was never as far along as press initially reported. It rarely is. It's got legs alright. Just takes a bit of time.
True that. Amazing how many believe what they read as gospel (The Comical being a prime example ) then moaning at the club being slow when in reality things are probably right on course. Mind it doesn`t help being impatient buggers.
Balague has just tweeted that we have just now had a bid accepted but he won't be let go without a replacement. I trust Balague, he knows his **** in La Liga gets it right often, latest being Alcacer who looked nailed on to stay Valencia having been made captain and given new deal, Balague insisted he'd go Barca and that's happening today.
It's the price that seems a little strange, to me. If the reported 7 million, is true. Then we have ourselves a bargain. I wouldn't have complained about paying double that.
Whilst I don't doubt him over this, as I have no reason to, I can't agree ref Balague he's absolutely bursting from the brim with utter bullshit. He's constantly saying things about Messi to generate heat and Messi just isn't budging. He swore that De Gea was a Real Madrid player about a month before the window closed. He said Pogba was a Madrid player. Sorry mate he's not even remotely reliable he's nothing more than a fat, greasy, stuttering laughing stock.
He's usually spot on with stuff working Spain though mate, with Spanish based players, as that where he has contacts. Whilst I get the Messi thing that was heavy over there and is still doing the rounds that he may leave due to the tax thing.
If he was going to leave it'd have been this summer, I don't believe somebody employed by Sky to fire up rumours has any better knowledge than the next guy in Spain, the only difference is he speaks English so he relays the stories to our Sky team. The amount of crap that comes out of him should come with some sort of hazardous warning.
To be fair mate 90% of all journalists are speculative, nature of the beast. He has been spot on with transfers from Spanish clubs as I say, and I do believe he has an inside line to the La Liga clubs.
Why would any football club talk to him about their transfers? More likely he knows a few agents through his contacts. He's a massive arsehole always sticking his nose into United business, stirring up bets for Sky. He's very good at acting.
My brother used to work as a football journalist, the stuff he tells me is simply unreal.....I would believe about 5% tops of what you read
It's pointless believing anything until it comes from the club, otherwise I'd have been celebrating a Dani Alves and a Sergio Ramos transfer to United. Ronaldo would have rejoined United 6 times as well. It should be illegal for a media company who are responsible for reporting transfer news professionally, to have a betting arm of their company.
Like I said mate, no reason to be doubting this one but it certainly hasn't come from him. The line is strong enough for him to reel that turd out and not be left with a red face.
