Really sorry if this has been posted or commented on - just send me to it. The new owners are property developers. The council seems to be willing to issue an olive branch to non-Allam owners so assuming the incomers have done their homework and want the site as well as the club do we (a) think that a good thing in terms of their overall ambition? Are they "football" or "development" instincts and do you agree that both can anyway go hand in hand assuming no council interference? (b) where does hull fc stand in this and are there benefits from amalgamation with us under one ownership say with the rugby club having new investment but keeping a minority share? The super stadium/two pro sports/multi-purpose venue owned by overseas stakeholders...something logical given the origins of the buyer and the potential of the site and "mix". I think/guess/hunch they are more progressive and open minded than the Allams and have more savoir faire in terms of general business ventures involving both property rights and (one hopes....but give them some due) customer relations so does the above set of prospects appear realistic and do they suit us? Apologies if already debated and have a very good bank holiday.
Prediction; HCC sell the KC. Fc move to Costello after redevelopment of course. The Hull Venue built from the proceeds but renamed 'The Geraghty '
Oh dear. Is it that unintelligible? Could well be! Do the new owners pose a benefit in terms of bringing the ownership of both clubs under one headline company in their own owned venue? Is that likely and is that a good thing as in both wanted and beneficial or too much control lost etc? Easier to debate in person rather than an online poser which I am not equipped for (!!) but wondered really if there is threat or opportunity here.
saw a half hour bbc special on football in china earlier today....although its goverment led football is massive there...there going to have 50,000 specialist football scholls so i think therve come for the football first...
You're original Matthew Langham@Matthew_Langham Hull City Council to sell KCOM to new owners for £25m. New ground proposed for Hull FC. Paid by council. Looking at Costello #hcafc
the grammar cops will say poseur. On another reply - sir John hall of Newcastle Utd started his business life as an owner of launderettes in Sunderland - fact.
BS is my guess. He looks like a kid after attention. Matthew Langham @Matthew_Langham 6h6 hours ago @dan1el88 @wezzytiger Yes...it would be silly of me to mention names on here. It's enough for @bbcburnsy to investigate! #hcafc David Burns @bbcburnsy 2h2 hours ago Please be aware there may not be a story here.
50,000 scholls will provide 25,000 players with footwear. Whether they are any good for playing football in is another matter. Seriously, the Chinese government's determination to become a football power could work in favour of clubs they take over. Less likely for them to look too closely at the financial workings of those involved as long as they don't upset them.
Still laughing.... Online stream of conscience where the fingers go like steamboat paddles and the brain can't keep up. "Is an overseas property developer a threat or an opportunity" asked in my own way. My view is their underlying business plan takes in much more than Ryan Mason.
