so it's looking like Chadli, Mason and N'Jie on the way out as well then.

I thought we'd be using this window to strengthen, not cull our entire bench.

Only a few days left and no word on replacements/upgrades. <yikes>
While I agree it’s clear (as the management understood) we’re in real need of a speed dribbler, I’m not so sure we’re actually short of players. We had too many midfielders, simple as, and we desperately needed another DM and striker. We now have both, and they’re clearly decent, at least. We still have Lamela, Alli, Eriksen, arguably Kane, Son, Onomah, Edwards and Carroll as midfield options. That’s probably the right number, I think.

(Edit). On reflection, I disagree with me. We need at least one more, and a good one at that.

Given an injury or two, they’ll all get significant minutes.

A speed driblbler or deep lying playmaker would be very welcome additions, no doubt. At this point, though, there’s every reason to believe we’re not getting either.

An abundance of midfielders is something we've often had at Spurs, however, we still need to have the quality. whilst we all hope Edwards, Onomah & co flourish and get chances, it seems crazy to be getting rid of so many established and experienced squad players, as this just means the pressure is on a lot of kids when the squad is rotated.

This, together with last summer's cull, has been the most brutal and thorough clear out I've ever witnessed in 26 years of following football. I bloody hope Poch knows what he's doing.

It's reminded me of the scene in The Godfather where Michael meets with Carlo to settle up for the selling out Sonny to the Barzini and Tattaglia families.

"Just tell me Nacer, who approached you to let Antonio score that header? Was it Sullivan or Gold?"

Apparently U18 coach Kieran McKenna has left for Man United. - what is going on with all these departures? <yikes>

A reporter for the telegraph is claiming that personal terms with Isco on a 1 year loan has been agreed.

This is blatantly going to turn out to be bullshit, but every transfer window I get my hopes up. When will I ever learn?

What's even worse is that you turn up on here every window to drag us down with you into your hopeless utopia <laugh>

In all seriousness, we're in a stronger position than ever before to land a coup like him. CL football plus the natural allure of the PL were decisive factors in convincing VDV to sign. So I fully expect us to sign Joey Barton on loan with an option to buy.

Can't wait for deadline these windows take ten years out of me every time.

SSN reporting that Sunderland have agreed a £12m fee for Mason, which is significantly larger than the sums being floated earlier in the summer. End of window desperation perhaps? Either way that's a good amount of money to make from a player who cost us nothing. I just sincerely hope it is reinvested in some form of replacement.

The ES on friday had an article about Spurs.

Specifically mentioning that while the aim is to have as much academy
talent produced being possible long-serving seniors, those that don't are being
sold on at noticeable profit.

12m for Mason. 13m for Chadli. More to come ??
Which combos of the following would that secure : Isco / Tielermans / Coric / Julian Brandt ??

This is going to be a mental last few days. Why, Levy, why?

£25m for Chadli and Mason is bloody brilliant though. <laugh>
I just sincerely hope we aren't left short or it could be one monumental cock up this season, when we should be capitalising on this opportunity!

Yeah, already re-read my own post and disagreed with me.:emoticon-0145-shake:confused: I can only hope the clearout means we’re getting N’Koudou at the very least, and/or someone else who will make a big impact.

Food for thought time.
So, we need competition for Eriksen and City are desperate to get rid of Nasrallah.
Stop bitching and let me finish FFS...
On the plus side he can be a fantastic attacking midfielder who both scores and sets up chances. He is very experienced and has won trophies and will be cheap.
The only negative is that he's a bit of a ****...actually a total ****...and while it's only one negative, its a pretty big one!
So what say you lot?
