He played over 20 games for Man Utd first team, last season and he's a full international. That doesn't happen to bad players.

As I understand it, Red Bull changed their name from something else when they took over and used the Rasen Ballsport prefix for its obvious double meaning

Not only that there were 5 or 6 clubs in for McNair, are all their scouts blind?

Yep, they were hunting out a club to take to the Champions league. I was all for it.

Aye DFB don't allow corporate names in teams anymore, so they use a cover.

Leverkusen are named after their owners, Bayer Pharmaceutical, but that's been since before the rules.

Actually, several Bundesliga teams were kind of works teams rather than football clubs, Bayer & Wolfsburg are the most famous.

I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the history of the game. Its about the history of German football- really good read. I read loads of stuff like that. Just bought one about football in Argentina by a guy called Jonathan Wilson who I believe is a Sunderland fan.

@Nads @Safc83 If you lads like that kind of stuff check out Morbo (about Spain by Phil Ball), Behind the Curtain (about Eastern Europe, Jonathan Wilson), and one of my favourites Brilliant Orange by David Winner which is about the Dutch.

    Thanks, mate.

The best book I have read is 'inverting the pyramid', about the tactics of football throughout history and how they have evolved. I'd definitely recommend that.

I won't tell you how it ends, but Queens Park, in Scotland, started 'total football'

Yeah?! I knew the short passing game originated in Scotland so maybe that's related.
There's good one called 'The Outsider' about the history and psychology of goalkeepers- that's worth a read too

It's no wonder I'm occasionally out of my depth on here compared to scholars of the sport like you lads.

It's as informative as it is interesting on here.

Michael Keane, nobody gave a **** when he joined Burnley.

    He'll cost you £20m today.

The academy you've just took those two from has produced player after player after player who was '****' at one point.

This league is packed with our academy graduates.
