The Coventry City Stadium is (pardon the pun) in a different league all together. It's substantially better than the KC, I had a conference there about 18 months ago - I was left really impressed and thought it deserved a much better standard of football.
I thought Inglis said it was possible to sell it but only with the approval of the government. To be honest I can't see why the Chinese would want to buy it.
I went to an awards do at the Ricoh in March, its corporate and conferencing facilities do indeed piss all over KCom.
I reckon they'll start off slowly & build an underground nuclear bunker. A few years later it'll be an underground supermarket. Is that plot of land in Welton (Melton ?) part of the Allam's bundle of goodies for sale ?
I think duffen/bartlett bought an option on it which has since expired. Unless you're talking about something other than the smoke and mirrors approach to packaging the club for sale pre 2010. If they had bought itthen there would probably be debt leveraged against it as with everything else they could possibly borrow against to cover the fact the wealth behind the club in those times only really existed on paper pre property crash.
The Ricoh is ****e for football. It was built as a multi purpose venue and conference centre, leaving no surprise its facilities surpass our own. It's not far from me and I go to a few events there. But anyone who's been in it to watch a footy match will tell you it's a total bag of ****e. Not sure why, but the design of the stands feels more like being round a running track and creating an atmosphere is next to impossible.
Mebbee got summat to do with the whole schizoid nature of the complex. Is it a conference centre? Or a casino? Or a cheap hotel? Or a sports arena? Or a bizarre concrete maze? I might have dreamt this but I'm sure I once slept in an executive box there and was woken at 7.30am by a bloke pushing a small petrol powered lawnmower around the penalty area below. Hungover and befuddled by lack of sleep I pulled open the full length glass doors, stumbled over several rows of sky blue plastic seats and yelled at him to shut the **** up. Then I was on a sort of horse cantering through a type of meadow. I was side saddle and I think I was female. But only in the dream obvs. I remember my dog was there. Not the one I've got now but the one I used to have before the incident with the underpowered Electrolux. Anyway, this horse knew where it was going and we all ended up in the high street. No one was talking to me. I remember that. I woke up screaming and chilled to the bone, but that could just have been 'cos it was February and there was no ****ing heating. Anyway never been to Coventry since then. Plan to keep it that way.
Anyone heard the rumour that perez and mourinho have told our owners that if phelan is appointed full time they'll sort us out with some loans?
