And I just gave two examples of why your opinion of the value of the KC was misplaced. You aren't alone. The likes of Geraghty and others have unrealistic expectations of what the KC would be worth.
The KC is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. At this moment in time, it has no value. The Council cannot agree to sell it to anyone until it has gone through the correct processes as it is quite rightly listed as a Community Asset and community interest groups such as HCST have to have the opportunity to purchase first. I also suspect that there will need to be full and complete public consultation prior to any agreement being made. HCC will not make any money from the sale of the stadium, but they could make money from any development partnerships. The site has limited infrastructure and it is unlikely to be developed in any grand scale for quite some time.
It's not really been very well maintained at all £25m has been quoted, which they'd be incredibly lucky to get. Behind the scenes it looks a bit ****. I'd think £15-£20m is more realistic.

As is anything The Council cannot agree to sell it to anyone until it has gone through the correct processes as it is quite rightly listed as a Community Asset and community interest groups such as HCST have to have the opportunity to purchase first. and they have no money...just due process I also suspect that there will need to be full and complete public consultation prior to any agreement being made. Not a legal process.....just council rhetoric HCC will not make any money from the sale of the stadium, but they could make money from any development partnerships. True The site has limited infrastructure and it is unlikely to be developed in any grand scale for quite some time Not necessarily
An article from last year says Swansea's is for sale for around 20-25 million. Look how long they've been thinking of this and with a council in a similar position.
The KC did not cost £44million. The whole project cost £44 million of which the cost of the KC was £30million. Coventry's newer stadium with a capacity of 7,000 more with a hotel, casino and exhibition hall attached went for about £20 million. How can anyone think theKC,, which is older, smaller, and comes with nothing attached inns city where the value if land and property is way down compared to most of the country and NH edds quite a bit depending on it, is worth 30% more?
So if the stadium only cost £30million what is the KC worth bearing in mind that .Leicester's and Voventry's stadiums, each with 7,000 more capacity sent for £18million and £20milliom?
