Can the new owners sort out the ****ing car park? Getting out of the bastard is almost as hard as getting into the ground.

Why is it that many other grounds, much bigger to Citys do not have the same bi-monthly **** up that we endure, and ensure that we may get home in the same day we went to the game.

Close Walton Street after the game so that the only users are those exiting the car park. Make the two exits nearest park left turns down to Anlaby Road, make the two exits nearest railway line right turns on to SBW.

Once the away coaches have gone use the 'fifth' exit under & over the flyover.

Get some plod to manage the traffic lights at Walton Street/Anlaby Road.

    Isn't that hard is it?

I don't know what pubic transport options they have now but that to me would be better than individuals turning up each in their own car. I've got good memories of all the buses lined up for those exiting Boothferry Park.

Probably easier said than done . Think something similar to above was tested a few years back . The problem I think was that people parked were they wanted to and then did not adhere to the correct exiting process . Also the council had to agree to the closing off of Walton Street to create one way to spring bank and one way to Anlaby road . In principle a great idea but just think the powers that be at City Hall can't be arsed .

Just emphasises the malaise surrounding the club and the lack of foresight in this specific instance by the council. I'm not sure but would imagine a lot of the roads around Wembley are the responsibility of Brent Council, and probably other grounds & their local councils similar too.

It really is not hard to solve.

Being a bit hypocritical here. Public transport is a good option, but I'd rather get in my car, wait a bit (rather than on a bus) and get away under my own steam.

Maybe Mike Dean should be appointed head of traffic control at City home games. He's rigid in adhering to the new shirt pulling rule. Get him enforce new traffic rules and to tell those who try to go against the traffic tide they're going the wrong way. No red card, maybe have a series of cranes along Walton Street to lift miscreants off the road. Then the cranes could play 'conkers' with the cars, with the drivers and passengers still in. That'd soon learn em.

Unless you have difficulty walking why would you even consider parking in there?

Or I park elsewhere, free & take a 20 minute stroll to the ground. usually beating the away coaches back onto the A63 after the game.

    Do what I do
Go and drink heavily on Anlaby Rd...try to ring a taxi...give up because they're all booked up...have another pint...wander out of the pub with Askewshair for a bus knowing it might be an hour to wait, and we'll probably have to get separate ones...see the exact bus which can take you both home immediately pulling up next to you...get on it...get home for a beer

Admittedly this system doesn't always work, but it did yesterday

Closing Walton Street to traffic immediately after games is currently under discussion.

Without getting into the politics of it... if the CC sell the sound to the new owners as has been mooted, maybe things could be moved along with the input of HP.

Sounds promising, but the organising of the car park needs to be sorted too . The car park should be split in two with one section for turning north and the other south using barriers if needed .

I'm afraid it's all a bit too late lambo. I'm taking up Dennis Booths advice.

Beer. More beer. Stagger. Beer. Football. Beer. More Beer.

Everything here is spot on . I have spent more of my life on the sodding car park than in the Stadium. No one seems to give a **** either. Its so easy to sort out as Arnold has explained. For the record we used to close Boothferry rd when we had 8 thousand in the ground..

The police aren't paid to stand on Walton street car park for the convenience of paying guests.
If they were to do it, the club would have to pay. Most of hull doesn't pay taxes for a few football fans to be helped out.

Stewards have no powers to direct traffic so they can't. Road directions would be ignored without enforcement or proper signage and control.

It's not that easy. It could be solved by paying up for police in overtime to do it but why would the club as everyone gets out eventually and there haven't been any serious accidents to demand action.

Anyone doing traffic control would be liable for any accidents so it's not something you'd jump at.
More likely are temporary road signs that can be flipped on at both ends of matches to control entry and direction, and don't need anyone to be there once they are activated.

You had a drink waiting for you when you got to the pub pre match. Why wouldn't the bus be waiting as you left it?
