I've never considered Elmo a RB. That was the one position that has bothered me in our thin squad, more than Livermore at CB or Clucas in CM. He's done well so far this season.
I thought Elmo had a decent game and is getting unfair criticism, he obviously ****ed up with Rooney for the goal, but I thought he was otherwise decent.
Disappointing to concede so late, but the character and desire from our team is to be thoroughly commended. They can take a lot from that performance and hopefully kick on again after the international break. We gave probably the strongest side in the league a hell of a test last night and we can't ask for much more. Despite all the **** that has surrounded the club of late, it's hard not to feel immensely proud of what the players and management team are currently doing.
It's his one mistake all season and their slating him for it. He's been really good and you're right - the criticism is unfair. He's so calm on the ball when we're under pressure and helped out quite a bit with Vardy in the first game.
Agree that Elmo has played fairly well at RB but he has an issue with switching off going back over the years with us, I'd like to see us get another right back seeing as Dave is out, maybe a loanee. We miss Elmo further up the pitch with his ability to win headers massive
Just seen the goal again on Sunday Supplement. Whilst Elmo got caught by Rooney... Harry was ball watching and should have easily cut out the ball across the 6 yard box.. Live and learn..
There were loads of tourists swarming round the bench with their phone cameras at the ready at the end of the game.
I don'the think anyone has criticised his overall game yesterday. We all seem to agree he judged his timing on Rooney poorly, whether it was a lack of focus or6 a lack of instinct we could debate all day. I think it is instinct that he lacked; that of a natural RB. Beyond that he was, as you say, good. It will be interesting to see the players brought in and how they will be set up.
Really, where? I've read the posts to catch up and folk simply seem to be mentioning his mistake, as it was a critical one, wasn't it? I would hardly call discussing a mistake as slating him.
Snoddy reckons he'll be fit for middle week for the Jocks...I thought the knee had gone again, then he thankfully got up and walked off so injury not as bad as first feared,
Bloody Scholes what does he know about being at a club like ours. He's been spoilt at Man U. Disappointed Alex didn't give him what fo.
I also feared it was his knee and was most relieved to hear Phelan say he'd just given his leg a wallop, we lost our attacking threat and came under more pressure when he went off.
