Massive queues outside West stand for today's game. We missed the first 5 minutes and others must've missed about 20 minutes. Problem seems to be new scanning machines and people's inability to use them. How much did it cost to install this system and how much would it cost to just have someone on the turnstiles checking people's tickets? Either we need more turnstiles or some manned turnstiles to prevent this happening again. Hopefully the new owners will be aware of this problem and address it asap
Still had one steward per turnstile, no further on than many years ago each turnstile had an operator? Oh no, they didn't have queues then
A fair few will have watched Hull Fcs historic Wembley Victory. It was tough i can tell you then turned up late. It ll be ok next game
Due to all of west upper being open? Massive queues last week for east stand, only just squeaked in as the teams came out, but this week it was fine, in fact shorter queues than last season. They are frustrating to use with the "wait" thing while the person in front goes through, but the scanning relability is a lot better. Maybe need more training/familiarity though as I had someone in front of me scanning the barcode on their pass instead of holding against the chip reader part.
The system isn't the problem, it's the **** wits who don't use it properly that hold everybody up. They put an instructional video out, but even if you haven't seen it, it's hardly rocket science.
The machine in front of me froze for about a minute. They tried to find somebody to fix it. In the end it unfroze itself. So what you've said is bollocks.
I was at the back of a huge queue so went to the turnstile next to the one printed on my ticket and it let me in no problem, would have missed the start otherwise
Well I'm just going on what I've seen. I've used it twice and seen no problems, apart from people scanning their tickets upside down and waving their passes in front of the scanner like a hand fan and then moaning it's not working.
Wish I shared your confidence. We were at the ground for 10 to 5 and still missed the kick off. Something needs to be sorted
Crikey I turned up last minute as usual, and there a massive queue, but it went down fast and I only missed the first few minutes System itself is much better than the last one, although there are still numbnuts that are incapable of using it
Arrived at 5.05 for East Stand turnstiles at bottom of footbridge steps. Queue back to club shop. Was through turnstiles and in my seat by 5.10. Only problem I saw was someone with a printed ticket waving the bar code about.
The number of people turning up late is crazy...There were still punters coming in at 6pm..FFS you wouldn't turn up 30 min late to see a movie.
I'm often guilty of missing kick off The day isn't just about the football and sometimes you're chatting with friends over a pint and cut it fine (or cut it late) The difference is all games start the same way, unlike films (I assume...I don't always see it)
guy in front off me couldn't figure out why there was nobody in the turnstile to take his ticket, quite funny ( think he'd been in the pub)
Fair point...but 30 mins...Not sure why I'm that concerned, they bought the tickets...so suppose they could turn up or not at all.
