Nother quite true in my case. Have had Light Stream for around 18 months. I asked the question about fibre to the home and was told that from my house to the exchange (green box) it is copper, then fibre back to the main hub. It will be changed eventually to fibre to the home but not for several years I was told. I get 70mb+ download and am on the lowest possible 50mb package.
So just to get this straight in my mind... You want the point where you phone enters your house moving... Reason for this is that you are removing the wall.... That is presumably an external wall. What are you doing, converting it into a barn for hay bales?!
Not had time to read all the posts on here but im a telecom's tech here in Canada and used to work for Virgin media back in Manchester If its just the phone jack its easy to move but if KC are like BT they will not want you moving it and if they find out they could charge you for it! Also is the jack the main one or an extension? If the jack is a Ethernet jack then it be a little bit harder to wire up, just make sure you take a pic of the wires and make sure you get them in the right order If you need any advice please PM me and send me some pics so i have a better idea what your talking about
No And it doesn't really matter I can get KC to do it, it's not that expensive, but I just thought there might be someone on here that might fancy the job instead But in actual fact the box isn't on an external wall, it comes in through the loft, across and then goes down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room, which is the one that I'm removing
Cheers I appreciate that It's the main one, but it's not Ethernet (although I have wired some Ethernet connections too) I'll,probably just get KC to do it, but if I have a stab I'll send you a photo Thanks again
I don't know owt about these things Den. But you want my advice? Drink a lot of alcohol. Oh and be careful where you park the car.
