The Kop itself is going to look pretty ****ty soon, particularly with the massive end at Spuds new ground.
What's the capacity going to be when they have finished? Aren't they going to extend the other stands too, maybe they have?
There's future plans to increase the Anfield Road Stand, which would bring the stadium capacity to around 59,000.
Think it was 58k from memory. Anfield Road end is next but not sure there's plans for the other stands.
I thought I'd read it somewhere. That was the reason for compulsory house purchases all around the stadium to enable all four stands to be extended.
I think OLM is right actually now he's said the 54k, i think 58k is the capacity after Anfield Road end has been extended / rebuilt / whatever. Edit - just seen his other post basically saying this. Ah well.
I do like the point that the stadium is staying put, but just going through major restructuring. I think it's a shame when teams move location, I know it's largely cost and infrastructure based decision making. But you think about some of the great games these stadiums have had.
Yeah and the decent pubs around with stories to tell! I'm not into all the harvester & F & bennys before a match
Does anyone know if they're switching the main camera position to the other stand? It's a shame if the cameras remain on the existing side in this now new stand so we dont get to see it.
I've never been to Anfield and never been inclined to even think about it. That before shot looks ridiculously small for a club like Liverpool, I'd always assumed they have big stands and at least a 50k capacity. I am surprised. But I thought they were moving? I recall something about Liverpool grabbing the land Everton were hoping on moving to or some such.
