Is that not what Tammy is, all his goals so far suggest this. I think we need a younger version of Wilbrahimovich who can hold the ball up and maintain possession to bring others into play (Jordan Rhodes anyone..?)
LT is not the player of last seasons standard, however he is going to be a key player if we are to challenge this season. He definitely needs to up his game. However we need him playing directly between two front strikers in my opinion. LJ has a headache trying to set the team up this way.
Not getting this here fella. You want a fox in the box. You want a top quality striker. You think Jordan Rhodes could be good and he is more bulldozer than a Fox. So who are you dropping to make way for all of this? You will have a squad of thirty soon with fifteen forwards in it if you buy two a month.
Red we only have two strikers that are championship standard Kojack and Abraham. Where are all these forwards we have. Tammy was lost against quality defenders on Saturday,we did not have quality to come on and replace him. We need a minimum of three good strikers. LJ has clearly said we require another quality striker. When either of the main strikers goes off,we are powder puff up front.
The player helped take then up small fry now it terms of what the prem offers. They can afford to subsidise him back to the championship, they see the bigger picture with the prem money.
We're OK up front for now as long as nobody gets injured or banned. It's cover for Matthews that we desperately need right now. Losing him for 10 games is a worry.
Don't confuse him, he's dropping O'Neal, Flint, Magnasson, Bryan, Reid or Pack, or he might swap O'Donnell when he moved onto his next "we need another striker"
recall a comment from the Barnsley fan/s about Lee doing brilliantly but then having probs with team selection! I thought we started with the wrong team on Saturday . I didn't go but on paper after the Norwich game ....... why change anything!
He was giddy with it a few weeks ago. Now before the end of August like a kid with a new toy which is not exciting enough its time again for new singings millions splashed out. I would ask how long he is giving Tomlin but might get till 3.45 Saturday "we need top quality Tomlin is not good enough!!!!!"
That's sort of started already, on another thread he's said he's not the player he was last season. So I'm guessing you're correct with 3:45 Saturday
The problem presumably happens in January when Kodjia vanishes to Africa. Either we get in another forward or promote a youngster
What a difference 12 months has made, this club is being run professionally, properly, the signings in look fantastic and the players gone apart from Ayling have been great. I wonder where we will be a 12 months time, can we dare to dream.
I really fancy us to do something this year, buzzing really excited by the calibre of players that have arrived.would have loved Rhodes here, think we could have gone for it big time with him onboard.
Other Championship clubs have spent vast sums too either on transfer fees or on wages. Despite their bad start, the likes of Villa have just recruited Kodjia, Ross McCormack and Albert Adomah. I cant see them being in the bottom half of the table for long. But it's still a case of making your new signings play as a team and this applies to all clubs. I can still see it being a very tight (and it's tough as we know) league. Lets get to 50 odd points and safety and then see where we go. Despite our signings, I still think we'll do well to finish in the top half of the table.
