Nah. Not my idea of fun walking/ scrambling in the pissing rain. Especially as the view at the top is non existent. I did a lot of kayaking and white water rafting instead.

Sounds good. You have to be lucky with the weather up there (or the Lakes ) but worth it when it's fine. It's been a few years since we made the journey but used to go to Snowdonia quite a lot.
You had a good time though?

Yeah it was awesome, I'd never been before so it was quite breathtaking.

Also, I didn't realise the Welsh actually speak a different language. I thought it was some dying old tongue they were fighting to keep alive.

I think there is an organisation for preserving the language and it is taught in a lot of schools. It was more common in North Wales but I think now it is more widespread.

I did wonder why I didn't understand a word she was on about when we travelled to the Watford game together. I just kept smiling, giggled occasionally and nodded a lot :)

For what it's worth, if you're a 'dip in, dip out' style F1 fan, the Belgian Grand Prix should be worth a watch this weekend - firstly it's nearly always dramatic at Spa, but secondly Hamilton will be starting from the back of the grid after taking multiple engine penalties.

Should make for a great spectacle (if he doesn't stuff it at the first corner of course).

Indeed - the only place I could be ***ged to go to F1 would be to sit in the stand at Eau Rouge and watch the spectacle of F1 cars going through a complex uphill pair of corners with the throttle fully open. I get goosebumps every single time I see it. And when Raikkonen overtook there, I sat open-mouthed in astonishment.

I was right there when the two BAR cars had their massive offs in 1999. Been a couple of times now, and there's nothing that prepares you for the moment you walk in the main entrance and see Eau Rouge for the first time in the distance. You just think "hold on, that can't be the track, it's WAY too steep".

Truly dreadful. Damage done in childhood can be impossible to overcome. How can you make your own child do that? But then psychopaths don't even understand normal feelings.

Seriously? Welsh is spoken by about 20% of the population. It's my "daily" language - I probably speak more Welsh than English during a normal working day as about 40% of my colleagues speak it . I'm sure I can teach you a few words :D

I'm very much looking forward to the race this Sunday. As you know I'm a big Hamilton fan but love it when he starts from the back as it's a joy to watch at him working his way up the order. Also makes it more interesting overall.

Plus the fact it's Spa which as you say is nearly always eventful and I reckon it will be a cracking race!

Totally agree . TV simply does not do the circuit Justice . I was there in 98 when Jordan ( I LOVED that team ) won their first race & Schumacher hit DC .

Was sitting in Pouhoun , he came past & we were singing " Three wheels on my wagon ..." The Germans were NOT laughing !

I'm liking the song, not Jordan.
