He could even be close to a senior national team call up then his value will rocket even more. Why sell him at the first opportunity? Its a sad sad way to think imo. We might aswell just give up as a club if were going to sell our top prospects before theyve even turned 18 and benefited from any game time from them.
People complain that the club's badly run. Something happens that makes us look pretty shrewd and people aren't happy. Bizarre. This kid is another Ryan noble for all we know and we're possibly going to sell him for an amount we can buy a quality established player for. If it's true. Thumbs up to the club. Keep doing it and we'll be in a better place than we have been for years.
And he could do his ACL and not develop at all. We're losing nothing but potential when we could gain actual quality in the short term. I don't see how selling and reinvesting is seen so poorly. I think people just want to be critical at the moment.
Hardly a good example him though mate. You`re comparing someone who was never going to get anywhere near the first team with a lad who`s got one foot on the pitch.
Yes or we could find ourselves in another Pogba/Man Utd situation. Noble had bags of talent but he was built like a Jockeys whip. Asoro already looks big and strong at 17.
Agree - but he could be worth £1.50 too! Edit - or basically what a lot of others have already said! (I'll learn to read all of the replies in future!!) I like the look of him FWIW. Quick, decent feet but a touch of the "show off" about him (has to beat a man twice!) Still reckon he'd have scored if he hadn;t been taken out running through on last night!!
I agree one day he'll have to be sold on but not at the first given opportunity before hes matured and reached his maximun sale value. Its abit pointless talking about any potential injury he might get? Thats like deciding to sell your car incase you crash it??
There isn't a right answer in cases like this as none of us can see the future, monty aside maybe. It comes down to gut feeling on how good someone is and their potential future value, mine is telling me this lad is one to hold on to. I'd much rather we keep him and sign another forward. Like Comm says it's probably a moot point if PSG want him, chances are he'd soon forget his speech about wanting game time if he's getting big money.
Agree but the emphasis is on COULD - how many promising 17 yr olds fail ? I'm not comfortable to sell him but it's today's football financial business - sadly the sport is driven by money and we need some -apparently
Not good enough mate, need to be at least outstanding. Did he ever make the 1st team bench? Can`t recall. Earning a crust in the gas works league somewhere isn`t he?
I'm pretty sure Noble appeared more for the first team than Asoro has so far, a handful of sub appearances I think. Christ, the Mags are still waiting for an Ameobi to turn into a good player, only been waiting 16 years!
Yes he came off the bench against Everton. Comparing him to Asoro is pointless though. Asoros had the top clubs from around europe after him since he was about 16. Only we knew about Noble.
5 first team appearances so yes he did. Looked OK a couple of times. From what I heard on the grapevine, he was a headcase as well which stunted any chance he had in pro football
Personally I'd like to take a few risks. Gareth Bale looked awful for Spurs when he first joined and they could of easily binned him
Exactly. 15m euros is about 10m quid. I find that abit embarassing really considering what his potenti value will probably be.
