Not sure if the Beatles did although as their records tended to sell very quickly then drop out of the charts equally quickly. Don't think there was a year where the Beatles spent the most weeks in the charts although they outsold others. The Beatles sold that many LPs that one of themfeatured in the singles charts, as did one of their EPs. Can only remember a Stones EP doing similar.
