    Speaking of awful, Whigfield, that bird that sung Saturday Night (among many other timeless double platinum classics) is playing in Hull at Telstar or Lyrics or Courts bar or wherever the ruddy little poor people go.

    No I can't remember the others either.

    He said singer, which suggests a solo singer not a group. I knew the answer due to the fact she was my dad's favourite singer. Not sure if the Beatles did although as their records tended to sell very quickly then drop out of the charts equally quickly. Don't think there was a year where the Beatles spent the most weeks in the charts although they outsold others. The Beatles sold that many LPs that one of themfeatured in the singles charts, as did one of their EPs. Can only remember a Stones EP doing similar.
