Bit of a wimp ey, myself used to love them, those little chopped onions and the girls in the bar were tasty too happy days.
London has some of the best burgers in the world. For anyone down there or going down there... Patty and Bun (Mayfair) Dirty Burger (Vauxhall) - makes a mess but is ridiculously tasty. Bodeans. (Soho) (Order the Soho Special, pulled pork and burnt ends) Five Guys (Covent Garden) is good but they've spectacularly failed to live up to the quality of their joints across the pond. ShakeShack (Also Covent Garden, avoid at all costs. Overrated muck.) Burgers over here are decent but not great.
My local pub makes a rather splendid burger with spicy bbq pulled pork and jalapenos on it. In fact pour pulled pork on most meals and i'll be happy.
Their burgers melt in your mouth mate. Thing of absolute beauty. Greasy, messy, beauty. please log in to view this image
Infamous in Manchester do an amazing selection of burgers, I'd eat there every day if I could. However... Red's True BBQ in Mcr make this... The most ridiculous idea but the best tasting burger I've ever eaten.
The Beast – Blacks Burgers, Croydon If you finish all 15lbs of beef, bacon and cheese you get the £60 burger for free, naturally. It also comes with a pound of skinny fries and a pound of ice cream, although you can pay £90 to enter as a team of four. Yeah! Burger, pop-up (relocating to Hackney Downs next week) It’s pretty much double everything (patty, cheese etc) and then crammed with pickles. Best. Thing. Ever. Mother Flipper, Brockley Market This bad boy only comes around once a week, so you’ve got time to prepare yourself. Check out their Facebook page for more dates and locations. 4. Devostator – Red Dog Saloon, Hoxton/Clapham Aside from large amounts of beef, bacon and cheese, these monstrosity also comes with a casual 200g of pulled pork. Bleecker St Burgers, (pop up truck at Battersea Power Station tomorrow for National Burger Day) In case you couldn’t tell, it’s pretty much just an insane beef, bacon, cheese mix. *Tries not to drool on keyboard* Red Iron Burgers, Uxbridge It has a brilliant name, comes with caramelised onions, garlic mayo, onion rings and chunky chips – what more could you want? The Thirsty Bear, Waterloo A casual one and a half pounds of prime sirloin and fillet beef, combined with pulled pork, mozzarella and salad, and it’ll only set you back £20. Score. I was just thinking I have got a chicken and branston pickle sarnie and to be honest I just don't think its gonna do it
please log in to view this image My personal favourite... The Bodeans Soho Special, pulled pork and burnt ends (Smoked Brisket) in a soft white bun, smothered with barbecue sauce. I'd give my left bollock for one of these. I don't think Uber eats do 10,ooo mile trips though.
It's incredible mate! It doesn't look as appetising as a brioche but it soaks up the barbecue sauce wayyyy better.
I like burgers like that mind, pulled pork/beef is done to death here but if you find somewhere that does it well, it's still good. My wife always says I only ever order burgers when we go out for dinner, it's the best food though, they don't understand, who wants a fricken 'Pan Fried' (as opposed to fried in a scabby old plimsole?) Seabass with lambs lettuce salad when you can order the Jack Daddy burger?
That's why I said 'good quality beef' mate, you won't get the trots at all, I had beef that was almost raw last night and it was fine. Try Aberdeen Agnus fillet minced up or very finely chopped, bit of salt and pepper, shape into burger and fridge it for 30 minutes at least. You can cook it all the way through if you want, but for me good beef should be served pink.
