On a sort of related note, in the past, I've been critical of muslims for not speaking out against the abuse of their religion by a minority. Seemingly I was wrong, and there are quite a few doing this, particularly the Kurd fighters, but why don't the media cover this more? Surely that would help build that muslim opposition to the extremists on both sides?

 

No. It's not 'the other side' it's just racists who have chosen Islam as their current priority for spreading their hate message.

 

Islam isn't a race and some seem to use opinions on the religion to promote their own left wing facism, however, I've edited my previous post, I'd be interested in your view of the extra paragraph.

As for your other post. I myself have been critical in the past of the Muslim community not being seen to be doing more to condemn the extremists. However, I was wrong, it's just as you say, not widely reported, whys that? Maybe it suits some right wing agenda? Who knows

Intolerance of others, whether it be racially, religiously, or sexually based is unacceptable, to be clear. And yes, that's includes Islamic extremism.

There is intolerance in all races, creeds and religions, and pointing out and trying to condemn the extremists of one does not excuse the actions of any other. It should be stamped upon wherever it's found.

However, to condemn a whole religion or race on the actions of a tiny minority is narrow minded bigotry

Geordies refer to the inhabitants of Newcastle. The term was used by Robert Louis Stevenson in his book 'Kidnapped' to refer to any supporter of King George particularly in the lowlands of Scotland around Edinburgh.

The Northumbrians led the Jacobite uprising of 1715 but Newcastle refused to join in the revolt. Thus they were named Geordies.

So Mr Angey what areas are classed as Geordies then.
