Yes it is sour grapes but so what. Whatever happened to free speech and "sticks and stones" or "we do our talking on the pitch."

 

In fairness, it's Hope Solo; she's pretty damned toxic, and I'm guessing they're just happy to have a reason to keep her away for a few months.

 

Hope Solo deserves everything she gets. She should even be allowed to play football. You need to read up on her before giving a **** about her.

 

Are the balls glued together? In the grand scheme of things not fussed as Saints need to focus on the PL and EL and never do that well in this competition. Besides we all know the likely finalists. Two from Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City. Outsiders, Newcastle if they are lucky with the draw and Palace.

 

I don't give a f*** who she is as a person but banning someone for making a detrimental comments about the tactics of the opposition would leave a lot of teams decimated. So what if someone moans about the opposition's tactics? Sets a dangerous precedent. Lots of players and managers moan about bus parking or ant-football after nearly every game every week.

 

She is due to go on trial soon anyways. So needs the time off.

 

Rightly or wrongly, it maybe a case of the "Al Capones".... nobody really wanted him jailed for tax evasion....

Or would we be up in arms saying WTF is going on?

TBH I've never heard anything about her before it is just the implications that I am talking about. Male players say and do all sorts of things all the time on and off the field and apart from obvious stuff like racism or homophobic or serious stuff like that we can't really descend into banning people for complaining about tactics.

On the Capones thing we could be cheering on Fletcher or McClean or other players who aren't angels being done for complaining that Mourinho's teams moan too much etc.

Calling another team's tactics cowardly is not in the same league as Terry or Suarez's comments and they did not get 6 month bans. The Chaplow thing above I don't know about.

We could end up with lip readers and even more cameras getting every player banned all the time for saying F*** You to each other several times through the game. On pitch banter (and off pitch) will be a thing of the past at this rate.

 

I did not realise that many outsiders had been involved in the final. Just goes show how important homework it. However, how many have played in the League Cup final since their last appearance. Point I was making is that Saints are not habitual finalists or even semi-finalists and as the club has to juggle the EL and PL, taking on the EFL trophy is asking a lot given the strength of the squad.
