I havn't seen much evidence to support this statement. The vast majority of posts that I have read from Sunderland fans have been very reserved with their predictions..
This thread has turned into a slanging match with a just a few mackems, and some of them *cough* Cestria keep going on and bloody on saying they can't wait for the 20th and blah blah. People are entitled to give their honest predictions, but the cocky over-confident tone will just make them look like prats if it doesn't go to plan.
So what you are saying here is that you are basing your assumption on one or two posters opinions rather than look at the wider picture!
I think its funny that the clowns that are making the biggest noise about the derby and "can't wait until the 20th" are the very same people who, after Happy Halloween, were saying that it is only "one game" and "just 3 points". They discard the 5-1 humiliation as if it does not matter, but the forthcoming derby is now massive to them. I wish that they would make their minds up!!
I think if we are all going to be honest here, this game is massive to all of us...However,could you honestly say that if the boot had been on the other foot and we had just beaten you 5-1, and you were then faced with an absolute barrage of posts that were rubbing it in, that you wouldn't have reacted in the very same way? I think it was just a method of minimising the damage that was done that day...It would be very interesting to see Newcastle fans reaction if we could do you over good and proper in a couple of weeks: here's hoping eh!
No, I tend to think that it is more about people being full of ****. Whatever the result I will never say that they are only 3 points. If we get beaten then we just have to take it on the chin.
See if you are saying that if/when your board is overran with them bloody annoying dancing 'party' men for days on end with a constant barrage of sarcasm etc. spouting off how ****e you are to go with them!
I remember our board on 606 when you lot beat us 2-1 (and brought out a commerative mug to mark the special occassion). Admitedly the posts were more tightly moderated, but we still had a lot of **** being thrown our way. Which is only to be expected. The same thing happend when we were relegated, and then it wasn't just Mackems giving it to us. Sometimes you just have to take it on the chin and with respect, some of your lads did exactly that, and credit to them because it can't have been easy. But by saying that the game means nothing more than 3 points makes the author look like a complete tosser though, doesn't it?
