I was fortunate. I had just started a new job down here in Northampton while the wife was back in Wigan and we were trying to sell the house. I was away from 5am on a Monday, back 11pm Friday or Saturday mornings. The kids both had chicken pox while I was away in consecutive weeks. I only had a taste of it at the weekend.
So that's 18, 18, 25 and 28. They sound a bit good to me, Fats! I'll have a look at some dates. Are those which Vin put down ok, Jaidi? I can't do Aug 31 and I think Fats might have some explaining to do if he comes south again very soon, so I'd say a Friday towards end sept?
I can't do Friday 9th or Friday 23rd September. Almost any other days in September are ok and usually I can get down early too.
Watching Bake Off on catch up and Paul Hollywood has just dunked his Jaffa cake in his tea..... Mary glared at him and said, "We don't do that in the South, you know"
I'm back from Greece tomorrow so I'll check properly then. My A/L year runs to end of September and I have a few days still to take, so any day before October really, although I may leave the uk for a week at some point in September.
Four blokes briefly talking about arranging a date for golf. One woman sat there itching to interfere....
Anyone heard anymore about the 5/6 drownings at Camber Sands? Just can't get my head round it, so unusual on the British coastline.
That's what my wife said. I've not read anything other than the one line headline. Will read up on it.
Still nothing more in it that I've seen, but it seems very odd. The jellyfish theory has, apparently, been ruled out.
Quicksand maybe? Or despite it being a warm day, the water is still quite cold and their bodies went into shock. But 3 of them. As for jellyfish, we get these aplenty coming into the calas around the coasts of Mallorca all the time.
Yeah, that's me - never had chicken pox (got yellow jaundice instead!) and I'm diabetic so I back away quickly when anyone mentions chicken pox...
I do wonder whether booze has played a part. Five men dead and police haven't identified them - surely there'd be stuff left on the beach? Police saying they doubt whether they're migrants, though the thought did cross my mind.
Wise to be careful, though it is possible you had it and scarcely knew. My brother had one spot....and I had my spots and his as well. My son had it twice!! There was a story recently about a woman being upset because she was told to take her child with chickenpox home rather than wait in the surgery and she turned out to have a really bad bout requiring hospitalisation. The receptionist was right in my opinion....chickenpox is rarely serious (though unpleasant), but a surgery is full of people with poor immune systems...the elderly, young, pregnant, cancer patients etc. Take the baby home, treat her yourself, and watch over her...correct call.
