I had a feeling we might be getting a striker (on loan) who might come as a surprise to us. I would agree with many that Oliveira will do a job for us, but will he be any better than Lafferty had he been given more chances? So we could be taking on Oliveria plus Rhodes and/or Mbokani? If Oliveria comes then I would hazard a guess that it will be Rhodes who will join him. I am curious to know why Oliveria was not wanted by Forrest after his loan spell but perhaps a permanent contract was never on the cards? So what is to become of Lafferty will he stay or will he go?

 

I doubt if the Mbokani thing has any legs and will only happen if no higher league clubs (in any country) show interest - Rhodes seems more likely although I'd still prefer Britt myself.

I would imagine that Lafferty will go if we get both Oliveira and A.N Other (seen at Asda) in - can't see him willing to play 4th fiddle can you ?

 

I would like the Portugese bloke and Dave on loan with a view to a permanent contract.

 

Nelson Oliver seems to have temper problems.

 

It certainly seems he has a lot of self confidence. Looks like he is not afraid to shoot.

 

Birmingham and Wednesday have been linked to the player this window too, according to some of the Wednesday press there was/is interest from Forest, but finances/ambitions didn't match up. Make of that what you will.

 

He is, apparently, on his way to Norwich for contract talks, but whether loan or permanent is not known. Know very little about him so can make no reasonable judgement.

 

But at least he will be a mate for Pinto.

 

Hmmm. I'm not sure either way with him. I think he was always a player known to have big potential, and I think he's one of the ones that hasn't really lived up to it yet.

6'1, he's the kind of striker who can play as an attacking midfielder, so he has the technique, and dribbling attributes. a pretty strong, athletic kind of player.

9 goals in 29 doesn't sound great, but looks like he was injured for the last 3 months of the season. Other wise you would have thought he would have been in double figures. Still not a great return, but something to consider.

Article I just read says it's a loan with a view to a Permanent. Which I think is a smart move.

N'Doye, Oliveira and Jerome should be able to manage 25 goals between them! ??

For what it's worth Sky Sports state that Rhodes is more likely to go to Wolves. This doesn't seem to reflect the general rumour mill which suggests he is going nowhere or on his way to NCFC. Seven days and counting General!

 

I've never been a fan of Rhodes. Undoubted goal scorer but brings nothing else to the table so you basically have a ten-man team trying to create chances for a lazy goal-hanger!
