Transfer Rumours Iborra

Sunderland have agreed a £7million deal for Sevilla's Vicente Iborra.

New boss David Moyes has lost his opening two Premier League games in charge of the Black Cats and is desperate to add to his squad before the transfer window opens.

Now he is on the verge of bringing in 28-year-old midfielder Iborra, who he knows well from his time in Spain managing Real Sociedad.

Iborra has made 83 appearances for Sevilla, scoring 17 goals, since moving from Levante in 2013.

The Spaniard was linked with a move to West Brom last season and is keen to play in the Premier League.

He came off the bench at the weekend in the LaLiga victory over Espanyol and is a popular figure at the club.

But Sevilla are happy for him to move on and accepted an offer of £7m from Sunderland on Wednesday.

Iborra is now due on Wearside to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches to his switch.

Sunderland are reported to be closing in on right-back Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid.

The 22-year-old is reported to have arrived in the North East for talks and a medical ahead of a proposed season-long loan.

As revealed by the Echo yesterday, Manquillo is on David Moyes' radar as he looks to strengthen his squad before the transfer deadline.

Sunderland are in desperate need of new signings, with Moyes' options decimated in recent weeks through injuries - the latest one being goalkeeper Vito Mannone - and the sale of Younes Kaboul to Watford.



Two players that have been strongly linked with a move to Wearside are Barnsley central defender Alfie Mawson, 22, and Manquillo, 22, from Atletico Madrid.

Moyes has confirmed: "They are both on our radar."

Sky Sports are reporting that Manquillo has today arrived in the North East ahead of talks.
