Obvious exceptions:
Lamela missed half of the previous season before Poch took over
Dembele had eighteen months worth of niggling injuries before Poch took over
Walker picked up various niggling injuries throughout the 2014-15 season
Vertonghen picked up injuries in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and was straight back in the side

 

The players who had prolonged periods of play prior to Pochettino taking over,
but never had a prolonged period of play in a Pochettino side due to their most
recent serious injury ??

 

Walker was in and out of the side during Poch's first season due to various injuries, with Dier (and, in the first half of the season, Naughton) having to fill in.

 

Pochettino is gearing up to have a serious clear-out of players, for which we
cannot come up with a consistent rationale for.

 

Hakan Calhanoglu's agent has claimed that we're interested in his client.
He's a 22-year-old Turkish attacking midfielder, known for his set-pieces.
Bayer Leverkusen are said to want about £22m for him.

This strikes me as a fairly Levy-ish buy.
If we're offloading players in similar roles, then it might be true.
His agent talking it up suggests an attempt to provoke another party, though.

 

Same club and same price as Son. Did they send us the wrong player last summer?

He went up for his medical yesterday, by all accounts, so this is probably true.
Some speculation about us trying to include Sissoko in some kind of swap, which could potentially hold it up, but I'm not convinced that's accurate.

 

Apparently the swap involves Bentaleb, if true that is.

 

I've been sufficiently put off by Sissoko. Turns up for the big games and goes missing the rest of the season. He's been there for over 3 seasons and isn't exactly young - so why all of a sudden is he rated as one of the most expensive midfielders in Europe? Because he put on a decent showing against Portugal and everyone went 'oooh,aaaah' and his valuation magically tripled.

There are better players out there for far less.

 

Watford complete the signing of Daryl Janmaat, which almost certainly paves the way for Yeldin to be confirmed as his replacement. Sunderland have opted for Javi Manquillo at RB. He's a decent player from what I've seen of him but not sure if he'll adapt to the rigours of the PL. Perhaps it took Watford's near total-collapse in the last third of last season to realise that it really pays to bring in players with proven PL experience.

OP updated...can't see a fee online and toon report is as being undisclosed so have gone with that.

 

"Yelling" has gone for a reported £5m, if you want to go with media speculation.
Seems to be the fee that they're all going for.
