Yeah they're not bad. I budgeted myself for £1200 and I think I spent around that. I think I got a pretty well balanced bike for the money. <ok>
Edit: That includes the gearset which was a hand me down from my bro (right in pic)

Which Mavics did you say you had? The cosmics I have? What gearset do you have? Saw a S-Works fly past me last night too.

mavic cosmics on mine (rear only right now) ... drive is shimano tiagra which is dogshit and just what the bike came with and got a bit mangled in my crash, gonna take it to a bloke i know who will get me ultegra or sram red for a good deal and true my front wheel

your bike is smart, allez is an alloy frame right so bit heavier than all carbon but possibly more durable than carbon and you can make weight savings elsewhere to compensate a bit, my tarmac is all carbon, took a hit in the accident but seems ok apart from a cometic scuff on the left front fork now :steam::headbang:<grr><doh> pissed me off that as i look after that bike like a prince

s-works are so sweet but the frames are not that much more better than the tarmacs for example and you can upgrade a standard higher end non-s-works tarmac to a very similar spec and not have the huge initial payout to have 's-works' on your down tube instead of 'specialized' ... would still get one of course if i had the money cos i'm stupid and a guy and that's what we do

if i get a new bike will probably get a cervelo of some kind, one of the R series ones, would really love a Colnago as well

I don't know anything about it but they didn't reply to my question on why male cyclists need to dress up like tour de france riders (or cocks as i call then) especially when they are 40+ and fat.

I don't get that about the hardened cycling enthusiast (as opposed to the commuter in town)

When i was young 100 quid would get you all you needed.

Kind of prices me out of cycling for excerise.

nah man you can get a nice bike for much cheaper than that ... sure it won't have all the higher spec stuff but that's only for suckers and middle aged wannabes

decathlon bikes that go under the b'twin brand are amazing bikes for the money, the bigger companies do good quality entry level rides for a few hundred, giant, specialised, trek, cannondale, fuji, scott, pinnacle all do them and if you get a new one when they're about too introduce the new lines or get a lightly used one you'll get it even cheaper
