No, I'm not. I expressing my opinion, my point which is that the badge (club logo) is not the only marketing tool in the box. Many have said they like the badge as it is, with, maybe, a slightly improved Tiger head. In the discussions I've tried to have, it would seem to be the view of board experts that the badge would be great (in principle) if we were more famous; this, it would seem, is necessary to sell to foreign markets. I have never disagreed with that principle, but do wonder were the benchmark is for being famous. How famous do we need to be in China? There are just twenty teams in the most famous league in the world, how lost can we become? If we drop out of the PL the whole issue is redundant anyway. Add in e-Commerce, social media, Sky and very proactive owners in their home country (we should hope) and being famous (or infamous) can be a blink away. Having Hull City AFC on the badge is almost irrelevant (and I'm a traditionalist, I want our name to be respected) unless it is simply to appease tradition, in which case I am comfortable with that; but I do think we will miss a trick - which is all I have ever said - no insults, no laying down the law on expertise, just expressing an opinion and getting full up abuse for it from a ****ing moron.
Solicitors met solicitors in London yesterday likely to continue to Thursday. That's not saying the takeover will be done by then but the due diligence, terms and structure should be in place. Then a case of going away and writing this all up in to a contract. We obviously have money because of the Mason pursuit and Nemanja. Which fits with what I said about the funds being available.
You seem to be closer than most on here with inside info. Are there other players lined up? Who is picking them? Is there a new manager lined up?
I'll be honest. Haven't a clue about manager or who the targets are. There is a shortlist but it's the people taking overs list: Don't know how they have formulated that though. Possibly phelan's form has made for some difficult decisions.
Posts like this are important. Why? Because people seem to forget they were said and we all know how history can somehow be reinvented. It's happened throughout history and it happens right here on this board.
Got to say it does sound very promising, alleged fit and proper meeting with FA/ Premier League on Monday, snippets of info suggesting `done deal` aint far away, but given how close we were last time with the Americans I`ve got everything crossed this time. It appears from the outside looking in that this deal has traveled much further down the road then the previous one, so one can only wait in hope. Lets hope this is settled quickly, and brings back the feel good factor.
The silence is deafening. Might as well be Peter Taylor,in the living room, using a large Wok at the minute.
