First team experience, against Exeter, with no first team players? Erm. I think Phelan know's what he's doing. I agree with him. A Tuesday run out against Exeter shouldn't drain them too much before Saturday ffs. I hope you ****ers claiming the first team needs protecting and resting weren't the ones whining about how we approached the Europa League.
We are in the league cup every year and only once has there been a chance it may be the last . . . for a while , i dont imagine many teams from the top 2 divisions will be chomping to go at this one . As for Europe , i don't expect to see us playing in the European Cups again in my lifetime .

What was the team for the U23's? I really wouldn't play any first teamers, Maloney for fitness at a pinch. Even if Tymon or Bowen play we run the risk of not having a bench for Saturday.
If we play a strong team tonight, it'd make sense for Exeter to ramp up the thuggery. I'd play Dusan and maybe bring Maloney and Maguire on in second half for a run out. Not sure it can be done these days, but it'd even made sense to play some non-contract type/trialists to accompany the young bloods. I know you can't play trialists in England but couldn't players have been signed on week long contracts? I remember a few clubs doing it for the Inter Toto Cup a few years ago.
I'd definitely play Dusan as an outfield player, in fact Phelan should have registered himself John Eyre and Clemence as players and had a run out too. With our squad none of the first-team should be playing tonight and the only people to blame are the owners and not the manager
It's ridiculous that it has come to this. The lads and the management team deserve better than being let down by those jokers.
