Beefy, why the Zaza hate? Not a dig just curious.

Haven't seen a great deal of him but from what I have seen he's a real nuisance - very hard working, pretty mobile, hammer of a left foot and decent in the air. I would have thought him to be a good fit for our system in rotation or alongside Long?

I just don't really rate him is all, I think he is overhyped. Obviously if we get him I am not going to slag him off and will give him a chance.

I don't much like him either although I'd much prefer him to Haller

I think he's better on the ball than Vic but Vic was a beast and were unlikely to find another enforcer like him.

Being an avid Juventus fan I've seen Zaza play a fair few times and I rate him highly. Obviously this in no way better qualifies me to pass judgement but it's just my opinion. When he played for Sassuolo he was great and fully deserved his move to Juventus. He's been on the bench basically ever since and now has the misfortune of being judged on "that penalty" (which granted was horrendous) but I've seen the impact he has made when he's played for Juve. He's scored a few important goals and generally looked very dangerous. The transfer fee mooted seemed very fair.

No, I realise how effective he was but you're kidding yourself if you think Vic would rock the single DM role we have now. We were just as good or better with Morgan and cork as we were with Morgan and Vic. In conclusion I offer you his disciplinary record.
We can do just as well and we can do better.

Yep, unfortunately spot on. That's the reality of a professional footballer & the only discussion point is "bigger" club.

For those of you moaning at the moaners just remember this quote from Florence Nightingale:

"Were there none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach anything better".

    I think you should remember this quote from my mum;

I think it took a slight deflection but in the context of the season it was massive. Juventus were a point behind Napoli in the run in and he scored that winner with only a few minutes left to lift Juve to the top of the table for the first time. Ahh

He'd be much better than any option we currently have to play that role. Also, to say an axis of Schneiderlin & Cork was better than Schneiderlin & Wanyama is borderline crazy, but you're not the only person to have an oddly inflated opinion of Cork's abilities. Notice how he's not even a starter for Swansea.

On Wanyamas' disciplinary record, last season was obviously awful but it's not representative of his career. He was clearly just unhappy here and that affected his concentration during the games, which lead to some stupid tackles.

    2015/16 - Played 32, 4 Yellows, 3 reds
    2014/15 - Played 38, 12 yellows (10 league) , 0 reds
    2013/14 - Played 25, 7 yellows, 0 reds
    2012/13 - Played 49, 14 yellows, 1 red

So as we can see his disciplinary record is exactly what you'd expect from a combative DM such as Wanyama, if you're looking for a DM who doesn't pick up cards then good luck with that.

Cracking post. People* are going to realise this year just what a vital player Vic was for us.

*Meaning the ones who bizzarely didn't already.
