as on a previous thread i'm with Jimmy <yikes> on if it is a choice of Moreno or Milner at LB i'd rather pick the LB even if he is a crap LB. I just wish they weren't the choices.
On Mane a big yes - someone who will attack his defender and try and get in the box

TBH I'm Moreno before anyone else in our squad too. However, that's not exactly heaping praise on Albert. He's just the only true option!

And I agree about the width he provides in an attacking sense (been saying it for ages) but his end product is nearly as bad as his defending!

    Well said.

Weve no real patnership and width there.

Mane and clyne at least have looked like they get it and can play together. Clyne prob looks at mane and thinks thank god finally......

Kind of like dare i say it the complete opposite to how evertons full backs felt all last season.

Im thinking this system for a look.

    Karius
    Clyne lovern matip moreno
    Can grujic
    Mane coutinho wijnaldum
    Origi
In theory of course... buy that lb for the love of god!!!

Ideally get a full back who could take a set piece too.....

Do you not have any defenders in the U23s that could step up for a while and do a good job?

We sold Brad Smith and loaned Flanno out. Beyond that, I have no idea.

Would have known before the club got greedy and copied Man Utd in fleecing the fans further by introducing a subscription only tv channel

    Nope.

Sold smith and honestly no a lad like say maguire wont cut it and theres little else there.

Most players in that squad are wingers!

It makes the situation all the more perplexing.

Spot on, we need our wingers/full backs to be able to work together, something that hasn't happened on the left side regularly in a long time. We haven't had a top quality left back in a long time though I'm not too hopeful at us ending the left back jinx.

Having watched Wijnaldum since he joined us I'm not convinced he has the pace to play out wide, he doesn't seem very quick to me. I don't mind Coutinho on the left when he has a full back that will make the runs to give him space but when he plays with Milner or someone of that ilk then he might as well not be on the pitch.

Whenever I have seen them (which is only against us) they have looked really good in attack but I have never really noticed the defenders.

It is a strange situation though because, even if Moreno was top class you would still need a good back-up.

I think a couple of the CBs can supposedly play LB. Plus Milner of course...
