I am expecting, based on fixtures and whether H or A Brentford to be on 11 points Barnsley to be on 11 points Florest to be on 13 City to be on 16 points in the top 8 Huddersfield to be on 16 points Fulham to be on 20 points wolves to be on 21 points major players, again playing who at Home or Away Norwich ...on. 22pts Brighton ........ 22 qpr .................18 villa ................16 Sheffield ........16 Newcastle ......14 derby .............14 So besides upping our game we seem to be in an easier division than last year!
We had the luck of the draw with the first 2 fixtures. Now need to get some more points on the board starting with Villa. No game at this level is a foregone conclusion for any team.

Just as well we didn't have Norwich, Newcastle and Villa as the first 3. Could have been nil points...
I have to hold my hand up Angelic, I commented on here we could be bottom 3 after the Villa game. I couldn't see us getting 2 wins from Wigan and Burton. And 10 minutes to go against Wigan I was fearing the worst.
Its so tight in the division that a reverse against Villa could possibly see us in the bottom 3. But after 5 games that wouldn't be the end of the world. It would be a lot worse after 40 games though.
It's still too early to draw any meaningful conclusions about how the league's going to end up - except maybe that Blackburn look dreadful. 6 points are this stage is decent - would be nice to get at least a point from the Villa game to get us going again though.
Simply for this thread I allotted 1 point for villa but elsewhere looking to win it ... Newcastle, on paper have the hardest 6 fixtures of any team coming up Brighton derby qpr villa wolves norwich

what a shock DERBY GETTING BEAT..... they next have Newcastle and Ipswich after the break ... THEN US at home .. come end of September the table could read quite interestingly
I think we will beat Villa, we look better at the back this season so far, but not scoring a lot. A big positive is we are getting late goals this season, whereas last season it was us losing points in the final minutes of games.
I agree with the late goals thing. That is a sign of a very focused and determined team. That's what we used to do under GJ in the early days. It's a VERY good attitude to have.
well 5 down, 9 pts, and in front of expectations with 15 points up for grabs and just 5 points needed !!! for the headline 14 points .. could be on 18 ! a fairly good transfer window has seen some amazing swaps and purchases not just for us but other Championship clubs as well one thing I note is the number of foreign imports at the expense of our lower league players making the grade to Prem or championship teams.... this must be bad for future England teams ... I think should we have had Newcastle 2nd game we could have won or drew, a loss against Norwich was always likely and a draw against Villa expected But football is a fickle thing ..we could have then easily have lost to Burton ! As it is panning out our fixture against Derby is likely to be the hardest to date as things settle down and they get their act together .. its picking up points when the preseason giants are not on form is the most beneficial .. 5 from 5 and -2 gd is going to change. after today depending on results with no teams on 6 points, the worst we can do is drop to 11th with no points or 1 point gained is 10th with 3 point gained however gd comes in and we could go as high as 5th ..... Fulham Newcastle look like draws, Barnsley have winning chances along with QPR C O Y Redddz 12 points
