Transfer Rumours The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread 2016

Was talking to a Baggie supporting colleague of mine this morning. He was saying that the rumours up there are that Jay Rod is due a medical on Tuesday/Wednesday, but with their record of medicals, along with JR's injury history, it will never go through?

 

His injury is fine. It's how it has effected him that isn't.

 

Oh look, Ron selling of some of Everton's good young players. Galloway going to WBA., I thought Ron liked to play youngsters....

 

STrangely I didn't notice that....neither did anyone in the Academy set up

 

So where are we getting these J Rod rumours from? The Daily Mail? Ffs.

 

I think he was just taking the Mick out of their record on Medicals, with Sackho being the most recent.

They're not a very pessimistic lot up there, even worse than us lot.

 

It's everywhere. Nearly every newspaper/site is saying it is close.

 

Really? Guess I'm in denial then.

If it happens then it has to mean we're getting a proven striker in.

 

Don't know what to make of it. Limited game time here, but we haven't started yet, why not wait if its a loan?

 

And why put him on the bench if he's halfway out the door?

Seems strange I would have thought a few months at Wolves/Brighton/Villa would have been good for him, and us. A year to a rival at 27 years of age seems, oddly generous as well possibly final.

Common sense would suggest this to be so, surely? With the Europe stuff to come it would be silly to further deplete our strike options. But hey, common sense and the transfer window, not often mentioned together.

Said this the other day. The lower leagues were fun because we were the big boy cherry picking talent. It's the same down there for most clubs as it is for us in the Prem with players on much lower wages moving for money which genuinely does make a difference. Players won't sign long contracts with L2 or conference sides because if they do well the jump in wages from under a grand a week in the conference to a few thousand a week in L1 is substantial.
