The thing is... after a full preseason nobody can take a set piece... theres not threat in the box from set piece and the first organised defense met lead to whatever game plan we have disintegrating into individuals aimlessly shooting from silly areas. Never mind transfers.... this is whats incredibly frustrating... the basics are not right. Id accept any squad we have as something we can grow from if the basics were to be depended on. Henderson.. two bites to at least foul the plater if not win the ball and both weak kneed.. goal.. pathetic... **** pass for first goal.. heads not on game. No set piece. Every corner short or hits first man..... 50-150k per week and cant take a corner still.. 4 years later like..... christ almighty. Leicester played ugly and won with fuchs on set piece and a solid defense.... its really simple. When its not your day to make 20 passes and a tap in you have to win however you can. We look easy to score against and have no attacking threat unless a side coughs up a ball in transition or gives us huge space to play in.
Left back was your most obvious weak spot last season, I'm amazed he hasn't yet resolved that issue tbh. I'd have also thought that he'd have used the majority of his budget on the back line, keeper and sorting out your extremely soft centred midfield I don't understand the Wijnaldum signing as for me he's a No.10 and you've seemingly got loads of them. Mane is a good player but was that a priority?

well his words after europa final alluded to this. I do not understand wijnaldum AT ALL... it's like he had an idea for a different CM and fell into this. Mane improves LFC hugely. I don't rate firmino wide right. I hate lallana. IMO RW was a festering sore as is LB. That signing was much needed.
We are not one man team, we should be able to cope with the absence of Mane or any player. I am not sure how good Wijnaldum is???.
Sturridge has been injured and the others haven't shown the end product in the chances they've been given (I still think Markovic should have another go)
Ibe - I don't disagree Sturridge is broken again and has lost that edge when fit Markovic - not strong enough of the ball.....was he ever really that fast anyway??
We've signed a keeper and two centre backs but two of the three are injured. I don't understand the ninja signing either but I think Mane was an important signing. He'll help break teams like Burnley down.

I'm not even sure form what i've seen that he has all that much pace day one. He could run when he got going but compared to the others who are gone in a flash thats not him. The whole point of mane is he wants to run in behind and go at teams. coutinho, lallana, firmino want to runs away from goal. its a consistent theme with LFc. Everyone comes short. everyone gets eaten alive in the tight two banks of 4 type formation. they play in front. they pass its sideways or back. Mane and origi IMO are the ONLY two who should be auto picks everyone else is earn your place by doing a LOT better than you have done thus far.
in fiarness thats rubbish. Lallana is a light weight who thinks he's cruyff. Henderson is a donkey who thinks he's gerrard. wijnaldum just thinks all his Christmases have come at once! they are totally different players... the only thing they have in common is none would be within 50 miles of a top 4 11.
