Basically signings are really difficult although they are working hard, trying to get the right players at the right price, smacks of not a lot of money to spend to me, and he is,warning the fans we are in another relegation scrap. Yep after only two games. Not looking good.
Talking to a few lads at the match today and the craic was that Moyes just doesn't rate him and wants rid of him. Obviously most or all of this is just rumour based but????
It's becoming a huge concern already. I'm not sure what's gone on but for Khazri to be frozen out and Kone & Kaboul both away, what's gone on? Add in M'Vila and Moyes comments re relegation after 2 games where we've been not nearly as bad as some of the reactions suggest and there's an issue, a big ****ing issue. I don't see a way Short can win back the fans from here, when the first went in there was a rousing response from the fans but as we lost our way after there was that all too familiar lack of support, I thought we'd got over this last 4-5 games last year but the bitterness about the transfer dealings seems to have fully shattered that buzz. It feels like we are bang in the ****. And I mean bang in the ****. I'm seeing a lot of questioning of Moyes on social media already and it feels like he's brought it on himself after initially saying and doing great things.
Someone mentioned on one of the threads that we could do a Villa this year. We have similarities e.g American owner puts big money into the club initially then gradually sells best players and starves manager of funds. Qusetion is are Villa one year ahead of us - relegation followed by the owner selling the club. The next 10 days might give us a better indication.
Sam to Moyes was meant to be a simple transition to maintain continuity and steady progress. It's feels the exact opposite. First time in my life I feel myself detaching form the club. I feel numb.
I think that's a cracking observation fella. Never occurred to me but there are striking similarities. You've scared **** out of me though. Suddenly I'm not numb, just frightened
There's definitely something that doesn't smell right about the club at the minute but would he appoint the manager he's wanted for "the last 5 appointments" and then do this to him? Its a bit odd. What is also odd is Khazri- how can Moyes not rate him? Based on last season, he's clearly one of the better players in our squad. It has to be a personality clash
Must be - I was listening to radio newcastle at the match and the commentator was saying that he would be very surprised if Khazri was still here in 10days time
Brilliant. So the club and the new manager have managed to piss off two of the best players in the squad less than a year after signing them (Kone's attitude stinks but I'm willing to bet the club handled the situation badly) and they'll be off. How can one club cock things up so regularly?
There is something very wrong imo - Gary Bennett was saying Jermain Defoe must be looking on and thinking what am I doing here. I know its a pundit with his opinion but its plausable
I don't often agree with you fella but today I do. I normally get pretty pissed off after results like today but I liked that the young lads have a chance and we were actually the best team.
The season has barely started, I'm ever the optimist... BUT I can truly say I feel very flat about our current situation... ..All I can hope is that the testing of the young guys will hold us in good stead for the longer term.... Whatever happens I'll always back the lads.... Maybe we are going to have to go through some pain to get the gain... Stick with Moyes as I am sure there will already be people wanting him gone.
What I don't get is that if you come into a team that has just turned themselves around to avoid relegation that it seems natural to think "lets build on that". Keep the players who made it happen (Kaboul, Kone, Kirschoff, M'Villa, Cattermole, Khazri, Defoe) and add to that core of players so that next season you can progress a little. As a Newcastle secret agent if someone had handed me the reins to mess up Sunderland I'd have thought: a) Don't sign M'Villa as the deal is too good b) Sell off one of the other key midfielders c) Break up the defence as they finally look to be getting it right d) Crock or sell Defoe as he's pretty much the only guaranteed goalscorer e) Don't buy anyone for now, just youngsters, and promote from within Seems to me he's done a, c and e. He may be about to do b as well. You sure he's on your side? Look after Defoe, if he gets injured or hits bad form I don't see a way forward for you. In a week it may look very different though!
