****e, I don't know where to start. Going down unless a lot of money is spent. Which won't happen.

BTW, januzaj is completely devoid of any vision for an attacking play. Was putting all my faith in this loan signing, shouldn't have bothered.

I actually thought he was beating players for fun but his delivery is the worst I've ever seen.

I guess one is no good without the other.

Oh aye, That part of his game is tight. Just lots of running into blind alleys when he had teammates in acres of space. I want us attacking space personally, not running into congested areas ignoring the correct simple pass. So many time we could have really stretched them but the chance just passed us by time and time again.

I read earlier from someone on FB that ES wants out. Apparently there is no more money being invested in the playing staff by the owner/chairman, so DM has to sell to recruit new players, which would explain why Lens and Khazri are rumoured to be leaving.

On another note, Did anyone see Kone at the Stadium today? <whistle>

Oh well then, that's as good as hearing it from his own mouth.

There may well be no more money being invested but that seems like a false economy. He surely isn't an idiot?

:emoticon-0110-tongu I know FB is not most reliable of sources, just passing on what I read mate. Got to agree with you about the finances. It doesn't make sense to me either. I just hope he isn't doing a Randy Lerner on us! <doh>

I thought he was better than Kirchoff in his first game

After everything that could go wrong had gone wrong before the game I went in with a very negative attitude but they proved me wrong

I didn't see the game today, so won't comment on the performance. But I wasn't surprised by this result. It's the same every year - promoted sides play their first six games or so like they're all cup finals. They have something to prove, and often get a few unexpected wins. Today, Hull, Burnley and Middlesbrough all won, and I wouldn't have bet against any of them.

So I'm quite calm about this result. It often happens. What I'm not so calm about is that the remarkably small number of injuries last Spring, have all suddenly returned, Kaboul, who was raving about the team spirit here just a few weeks ago has suddenly left. Short was prepared to spend plenty in January (Kirschoff, Khazhri, Kone, N'Doye) and now reportedly isn't. I just wonder what's changed between May and now. Anybody know?

I thought Kirschoff was a small amount (like 1-2 million), N'Doye was a loan, Khazri was around 7 mill and Kone was just a few million too. Spending yes but 10-12 million mark I thought - may be wrong - not massive. Short has mostly been quite tight in recent years, though the big purchases have mostly been wastes (Rodwell, Johnson, Fletcher, etc).

I think you might be right about N'Doye - which would explain why he hasn't been mentioned all summer. But you say Short has been quite tight in recent years. Rodwell, Johnson and Fletcher alone took us over £30 million. True, that's not massive in the Chelsea, and Manchester clubs' league, but we're a long way short of being there. You're right about our January outlay, but Allardyce always said that if you remember - it's all about getting value for money. And he did. We're not getting the same successes this summer - and I kinda wonder why.

I get the impression that Allardyce still very much had his head in the game and in his hiatus after the West Ham job was itching to get into a job and sign up some players he'd had his eye on.

With Moyes he looks a bit rusty, he's been through the ringer a touch in his last two jobs and comes across as having had a deserved and required break - there's a good manager given time but I think he's over-estimated how much time he has. If he's relying on getting to know the squad better then fix issues in January he's an idiot. Long term I think he'd be good for you, I'm just not convinced there is a long term if the short term is bad - the team at his disposal is not up to the job and he's had enough time to have realised that and taken measures. Even if people are brought in this week they probably wont be jelling in the team for a few games yet, they should have been brought in a month ago.
