Could you imagine what it would be like if refs in football were miked up like in rugby? People would realise what a foul mouthed thicko Rooney is. Not the elegant, witty after dinner raconteur he seems to be when interviewed.

Football has never dared muke a ref since tony adams fd and blinded all game way back in tbe early 90s.

Rugby refs are miked. They have to clearly explain the calls made and can he heard in discussions with other officiaks etc.

The reality is without video back ups refs cant be heard to say didnt see it or what happened mate to a linesman etc etc.

Refs imo should be miked. They should be able to call over a captain just like rugby and tell him to go talk to his players.

Managers should be up in the stands not in the 4th officials ear for 90mins.

Rugby is so far ahead of football in officiating it is not even funny.

In many ways football is a much simpler game to ref too. The simulation and cheating is the just about sole issue they have to deal with.

I've said for years they should be miked up. Let the authorities deal worth the plums. Better approach than a yellow imo

Have you seen the scores in them games, 8-0, 6-0, 6-2, 5-0. You could sit a 3 legged puppy in the area for Barca against those teams and it would score at least 2/game.

The thing about rugby is either its a set piece and there is lots of time to explain or its a i havent time i need to get back in the line.

 

Coaches in rugby are just different. I think the 4th offi al was added to football to entertain the managers anyway

Take the 4th official away to the stands. I watched Mourinho on the byeline on Friday and it was so refreshing. I could've watched him for the 90 mins!

 

I don't need a picture painting, I watch all Madrid and Barca games that are shown on Sky (providing they don't clash with a PL game), so see his "sublime" goals

 

What scores do you expect it to be if a individual player is bagging a hat-trick each game?
