Morning Boggers, I was thinking it was a 4-1-3-2. Sacko was on fire yesterday. If he can keep that going, then its bye bye Dallas
Do we have anyone on here that was actually at the match? (that sounds cheeky, but serious question). I'd like to know how Mowatt played & how Doukara played/fitted in when he came on. Still worth keeping?
I wouldn't say bye bye Dallas. But it will push him to deliver plenty more when given his chance. All in all, a good position to be in when a half decent international is no longer guaranteed a starting spot
Do you think so? I've not been the biggest fan of Dallas, mostly because he doesn't offer the attacking edge that I've been looking for. It must be said, however, that he does offer very good defensive play from the right (or left), covering every blade, with the capability to go forward on occasion. My world wouldn't crumble if he left Leeds, but I do see a place for him in the squad.
Morning WJ, Mowatt is a Monk favourite. I like it that he gave him 65 mins, then gave Roofe 25 mins. Will keep them both fresh. If we are not going to use Grimes, we should send him back to Swansea...
Agreed Jock. Will come into his own in hard matches against top teams when we're in need of more defensive options
TBH, any time I've seen Mowatt this season, he's been lucky to last 65 minutes. Usually knackered by half time. I remember I used to criticise him & Cook being played together last season, as both died at around 80 mins. Mowatt seems to have gone backwards, fitness-wise.
We need to get to the premiership and soon. Had the most sobering of experiences yesterday. Went to a local bar to watch the Arsenal match with my 14 year old and was trying to find out any of our games might be on. The youngish Spanish lad that owns it had never heard of Leeds United, thought I meant Leicester. Just shows what the premier league has done to English football
Dallas is a safe option. You know he'll always give 100%, a good passer of the ball, knows where the goal is, but he will never set the world alight.
Got to lose a fe to balance the books apparently, who do you think we move on, presuming Murphy and Diagougara seemingly don't figure in the plans?
I always remember Florist's John Robertson. Usually seen off the park with a *** hanging out of his mouth, and on the park could occasionally excel himself by accelerating from a saunter into an amble. He was one of the most devastating wingers I've ever seen. No pace, but could bamboozle anyone close to him & put in the most wonderful crosses for Florist & Scotland alike. Clough called him 'the Picasso of our game', & Martin O'Neil said he was 'the most influential player in Europe for 3 seasons'. Not bad for a winger for someone that couldn't run the length of himself, far less do it quickly! And 2 European Cup Winners medals amongst others to show for it! OK, LoL, an exception, and I do take your point, but skill can be more devastating than pace at times.
