Mike Phelan. New Boss?

I don't think I'd be wrong in saying that once Bruce left that if we were told at that point Phlean would be taking over most of us would've been quite underwhelmed?
Well 2 games in I'm not sure there's a name that anyone wants more. Been incredible. It's already obvious on what he's bringing to the team. With a style of play and system that we've not seen before.
The club is going to be some place to be once the Allams are gone. Feel good factor on and off the pitch, mutual love between the fans and the players and staff. Today was something special.

 

I think with such a threadbare squad it would now be mad to appoint a new manager , even if it's one they have spoken to at length before our crazy start.

There's not enough time for a new boss to recruit in the precise way we need , Phelan has the players , what players he has -let's look at this in December/January

 

He's media-friendly and comes across great on TV.

Sky had him on as a pundit during a David Moyes' Manchester United game and he came across fantastically. He didn't look like a guest but instead like he'd been punditing for years with great tactical insight and brilliant analysis. He really understands the game from all aspects: a player, a coach, a manager, a pundit, etc.

 

Martinez aside, I always preferred Phelan to the other options we were linked with in Coleman, Zola, Warnock, Bradley, etc.

It was a dig mate (just saying).
The lads and lasses on here are just happy to have won two games when they expected the worst, nobody has said they will survive (though the hope has to be there now) and nobody has said they will win the league (except maybe me in an abstract way). Be happy for a club that is clearly struggling with things out of their control yet is fighting despite all odds to be successful.
