Declining a bet that you initially offered does! I think this is done here. You could've just nipped this in the bud by lightheartedly admitting it but again it has to lead to a back and forth.

Don't underestimate our illustrious moderator. He's probably the most accomplished Master Debater on here. Just watch, admire, breathe it in, and learn. Learn how to include a few extraneous expletives to add that little extra bit of class. Learn how to close any 'debate' with grand aplomb; his most masterly closer is to tell any challenger to eff off. I think this erudite ploy is one of his own invention -- I don't believe it was part of the training in moderator school.
