Whats wrong with Ealing ??? Had many a great night down Broadway Boulevard in my youth. OOps, showing my age now.
urgh, hate ealing but then i'm a patriotic (well, not patriotic i mean the same thing but just for shepherds bush) bastard and hate most places in west london apart from shepherds bush
I wouldnt say all our fans our tourists... district has a point that home fa cup games are more of a famiy occasion if we play a lower league team... however our away fans our quality and of course we remember you lot.... we just like to wind you up... when we visit loftus road the atmosphere will be buzzing (will we get the whole stand for that game?) and this will add to the occasion.. its live on sky and should be a great day all round
Broadway Boulevard, my mate was the DJ wasn't too bad back then The Ealing Wimpey boys were the hardest around
Just curious. Based on the above who do you support? I can't work it out from what you have said. Not having a pop. Just curious.
Huh? I've been reading your posts for a couple of months now and I always thought you were an Arsenal fan

The two posts above this one pretty much sum me up. I used to despise Chelsea, but not any more. ( Northolts Brentford analogy petty much sums it up. Don't get me wrong, I would dearly love to beat them as much as anyone else. As with all the other 'Superpowers' in the Premiership, it almost seems as, us little 'ole real football clubs with real fans are operating in a surreal parrallel universe. The like of Mackie, Derry, Faurlin, Hill and Orr ( Little or no Premiership expearience.) stepping onto the same pitch to compete against Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Torres and Anelka seems quite bizarre. Imagine losing or dropping a point to us? Personally, I would hate us to become what they have. Imagine having all that money, spending millions & millions and finishing the season trophyless.... Other than CL they won as much as 17th placed Wolves. Even if you only picked up the odd FA Cup or ,dammit, a league cup ,and still having that feeling of failure and disapointment. Also the panic of having miraculously winning the quadruple, the fear of having to achieve the same feat the following season. Anything less, would be deemed a failure. Sod that, I would rather stay as a real team with real fans enjoying say... a victory away to Stoke or Sunderland, or the odd draw at Liverpool or Everton. Real football, real fans, thats me. Remember... Only one London side won a trophy last season.
I fully understand where you are coming from to a point...however not all Chelsea fans see not winning something as failure. We made quarters of the C.L and came second in the P.L. That's not bad it's just not as good as some of our recent seasons. I'm old enough (and ugly enough as me old man would say) to remember when we didn't win sod all so does it not make me a 'real' fan now i'm enjoying the success we are having? Yes we won nothing last year but that didn't stop me enjoying beating United, Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Citeh and the like in the one off games. And...winning 'just' the FA cup is never failure. It maybe in the eyes of the media, it may be in the eyes of our owner but not in the eyes of 90% of our fans. Anyway good luck for this season and your 2 cup finals against us!!!
I love the atmosphere but not the fact that you need to be under 5'5 to comfortably enjoy your seat. im 6'1 and leggy, so feel sorry for the guy in front of me each week as he gets to enjoy a knee massage to the back of the neck and a full flown whack everytime I jump out of my seat in excitement.
