He isn't doing enough out wide and Sanchez keeps drifting out wide to get involved in the game so I reckon they should swap places. At least if Walcott does nothing in the middle we will have someone in the box! I don't think it'll be long before we see Giroud come on and Walcott go off though. I'd like to see Ozil on sooner rather than later as well but I'm not sure who I'd bring him on for.
Wenger never makes any subs until at least the 65th min (unless injuries) . Doesn't matter whats happening on the pitch.
1.5 pages of posts and almost the end of the match. This board is dead nowadays. Reinstate A87 asap...
Ozil made a huge difference when he came on. I just wish he would try and finish things himself. Its too often he beats a player, does all the hard work but passes rather than taking the shot on himself.
great game, will watch it again later. Good point for the boys, something to build on, they will be raring to go against Watford now, because they have a point to prove. Wenger will get them pumped up for sure.
Not good enough. Sanchez kept making strange decisions, we had no focal point and struggled for most of the game to get at Leicester except for towards the end of the game. Some positives from the game: Koscielny looked very good and is back in the team now. Holding overall did well. Monreal was solid. Xhaka looks a good player. And Wilshere looked lively when he came on. Also Giroud and Ozil must be closer to proper match fitness for the next game.
Positives Much better at the back Point at the Champions Negatives Still can't finish Lucky not to concede at least one pen
Garbage performance. Again. We were very, very lucky to not lose. How Coquelin stayed on the pitch is an absolute mystery to me and Musa had a stonewall penalty turned down. When I first saw it in real time, Clattenburg seemed adamant that it wasn't a penalty. In which case, why wasn't he booked for diving? Bizarre set of circumstances, but we got really fortunate with that decision. Sanchez is not a lone striker at all. He can't hold the ball up, he can't link play and he doesn't make the intelligent runs required from a centre-forward. He should stick to playing on the wing and cutting inside. Also, our passing was very disjointed and our final ball was shocking. It was like there was no team chemistry at all because everyone seemed so unfamiliar with each other. Chamberlain and Walcott had minimal impact on the game and Cazorla, though he tried to pull the strings, had no-one he could pass to because whenever he looked up, no-one was looking to make runs into the box. Everyone was so static. Overall, we should take the point. Because we didn't bloody deserve it.
With Xhaka, Coquelin and El Neny as more defensive minded midfield players, Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla and Ozil as attacking minded midfield players, we have incredible options in the middle when they are all fit. It's our forwards and wide players that have the question marks over them.
can't finish? What clear cut chances did we even create do get any goals? Did you even watch the game?? The attacking performance was abysmal.
