You should have seen him yesterday, don't know what occurred today but he was very poor. Just an off day for him I guess. Feel sorry for him, just one of those things I guess.

We have to get three more medals to surpass London now. I hope we land up above China in the table of medals, that would be huge I think

Super Mo Farah does the double double by winning gold in the 5000 metres, taking our gold tally to 27 and beating our own record of 65 medals in London . Currently we stand at 66 medals in Rio :)

    Medal table mathematics

Mo Farah's victory in the men's 5,000 metres takes Great Britain to 27 gold medals in Rio, two ahead of third placed China in the medal table.

By our maths, GB will guarantee themselves an astonishing second place finish in the Olympic medal table if Joe Joyce wins his gold medal bout in the men's super heavyweight boxing competition (Sunday, 19:15 BST).

Even if he does not, China - currently on 25 golds - would require 28 gold medals to usurp Team GB by virtue of Britain having won more silver medals (22 to China's 18), and they only have four events in which to do so.

One of these events is the women's gold medal volleyball final, in which China are currently trailing Serbia one set to zero.

However, in the event that China wins volleyball gold, they would still need an almost improbable and unprecedented sequence of results in which they:

Win men's marathon gold (no male Chinese athlete has ever won an Olympic medal before)
Win men's freestyle -86kg wrestling gold
And win men's cross country mountain biking gold.

In other words, put a beverage of your choosing in the fridge because it's [probably] not going to happen and Britain will almost certainly secure yet more history in Brazil.

Interestingly enough equestrian events were 1 of the original ancient Olympic events. The others being boxing, wrestling, running, pentathlon and pankration a combination of wrestling and boxing (mma) if you like.

Really enjoyed that race but Clare Balding don't half talk ****. Later on when she was doing the catch up on what's happened she was purring on how well GB had done with the medal haul. She then states that that unexpected golds are even more sweeter referring to Heaths win. The fact that not only is he the No1 K1 canoeist but he was the red hot favourite for gold.

Didn't know that ;) , for me equestrian events are not really a true test of the human, but of a horse and the person in how skilled they are at controlling an animal who does all the work. I can think of other sports not in the Olympics like Karate or Squash that is more in line with it imo
