Well that's guildo's fault for not sorting it out....We can make all the excuses we can to make us feel better but the fact is nothing has changed ...We are still very poor up front...

And your still very poor at understanding the game! I wonder if you have ever played the game...............<laugh>

You need to understand the meaning of the word 'intensity' because that is what let us down today, we simply were not at the top of our game..........<ok>

Well I'm not sure we can criticise Guidolin for today. The team has clearly been doing training drills for getting the ball into the box to use Llorente but the players just didn't execute it. Not Guidolin's fault that our delivery was so poor. Still concerned at conceding from a corner though.

Very disappointing today but it can be sorted.

    Just got back home.

Have to say that today was as bad as it was at times under Monk.

Personally, I thought that Fabianski & Naughton were our best 2 players - but that it just relative in the greater scheme of things.

A number of things were evident

    a) we have no "leaders" in the team. We desperately need someone on the pitch to galvanise the players & to lead by example. Cork, sadly, did not demonstrate any leadership qualities today.

    b) we lacked guile to create chances & the final ball was often terrible. Hull defended in depth, stuck to their game plan, had the best scoring opportunities, and as a result deserved their success.

    c) we are dependent on Leon being fit to play in as many games as possible. Incredible that we need to rely on a player of his age.

    d) whilst I accept that the service to him wasn't great, Llorente failed to impress. Whilst obviously having presence, he seemed ponderous, lost the ball frequently. Doesn't strike me that he will get the goals needed to survive & thrive in the PL. (Baston wasn't sitting far from me - God only knows what he must be thinking........) if Bony is available for £13m - I know what I will do.

On this performance, we WILL struggle this season.

I thought routs was piss poor today, I hope he's on the bench next game as I would like Montero to start a game, with maybe routs coming on in the last 15 or so

I like Guildo but he was poor today...

Swansea fail to impress new owners
This was an underwhelming start to a new era for Swansea, with American owners Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan in attendance for the first time since completing their takeover in July.

Their vision for the club is built on sustainability and prudence, though their one substantial outlay so far - the £15m club-record signing Borja Baston - was missing through injury.

Despite monopolising possession and spending much time in Hull's half, Swansea lacked invention and purpose in attack.

One positive was the return of Sigurdsson, making his first start of the season having been given an extended rest following his impressive Euro 2016 campaign with Iceland.

Not even his creative nous could lift the Swans, however, as Francesco Guidolin's side limped to a first home defeat since February.

I agree on the Bony point. £13M would be a steal.

Why not give a little credit to a team who has been written off. No Manager No new players only 12 fit first team players, Oh not to mention our ****t owner. The sub today Maloney was the first sub used in over 270 minutes of football. He changed the game today. We ain't Super HULL no where near but TEAM !!! solidarity and total commitment is key for us. We have showed that in the first two games this year. Rant over and good luck for the rest of the season.

I think we are not giving Hull enough praise here, their players have this siege mentality, considering what is going on with them I am not surprised. They deserved their win today despite the stats saying otherwise, they will be a tough team to beat at the start of the season because of this.

But if they don't bring in players in this window then they are going to be knackered with injuries that they will incur, you can't keep playing the same players every week without it impacting on fitness. They will be whipping boys without new blood.

I think I would prefer to see Barrow start on the left flank, and Dyer on the right, Monty didn't do enough for me today...........<ok>

You posted as I was writing a similar thing, good luck for your season, without new players I think you will need a lot of luck.

You deserved it today - you played as a team, had fantastic spirit, and stuck to your game plan. Phelan deserves to be appointed.

I doubt he would make any difference today, even he needs service to succeed, and let's face it he had lots of that at Man City and still failed.

Yes I agree with this, and if we are still owed £8 million from his sale then that makes it even more of a no brainer. I still think though that Baston will be our top scorer this season, but if we are not keeping Emnes, then we definitely need another Striker, and Bony is a zero risk signing..........<ok>

I actually think that his presence would have helped - in attack, in defence & in exhorting the guys to raise their game. Basically, he would have offered more - far more than Llorente.

    Just my opinion <cheers>

Like i said guildo was poor today as he could have changed the way we were playing....Hull's Manager had the measure of guildo today and with just 13 senior players to chose from is unforgivable in our first home match of the season.....

Llorente does seem a little one dimensional but his strength is clearly feeding off crosses. The team knows that but did little to supply them.
