Daley has been in the public eye from a young age due to his talent but also due to the fact that his Dad was his biggest fan and fought so bravely against the disease which finally took him far too early. They are clearly a nice family and I can't see any reason to dislike him but each to their own I guess. Bit childish wanting him to fail on the world stage while he is representing his country mind.
I did think Adams had lost that fight, the last two rounds the French lass looked really good and I thought she just shaded it.
So as of right now, Team GB are on 63 total medals. Our London total was 65. With one more boxing medal guaranteed tomorrow, that means two more medals over the next two days will mean we will surpass our total as hosts, and we will be the first nation to get more medals at a games following hosting. In theory, we should do that, as we should get another medal in the Taekwondo and with Mo Farah as hot favourite in the 5k. Of course, anything can happen though.
for me this has already been a more outstanding olympics , real shame about Muhammed , the Taekwondo lad , he was proper devastated after his fight .
Agreed, but at least he got a medal. I think the worst one was Gemili in the 200m, missing out on a medal by 1/1000th of a second.
I'm honestly fine with not beating the Gold total, it's the overall one I just want to see us beat. The Gold one would be a bonus.
Evens each of two Quill... there was the swimmer Smiley Miley... was her 4th 4000's or hundreds... and she's been trying for years...
Just shows you how many more we could've had We have had more 4th place finishes than any other nation in Rio too.
It was the interview , where he tried to console himself , saying "at least i can try again in four years" , then it sunk in . . . "arrrrgh no four years , i worked so hard for this i almost gave up" i know he doesnt cheer me on at work , but that was brutal Telly
True but I will say again that this HAS to be a high water mark because being honest it just CAN'T go up from here.
In the past with that fact the Aussies would have called us chokers but they're very quiet these days.
Mahama Cho has won his Taekwondo quarter final for GB, meaning he has guaranteed himself at least a Bronze. As it now stands, we have equaled our medal total from London. Incredible.
Bianca Walkden has won her Taekwondo quarter final for GB, meaning she has guaranteed himself at least a Bronze. We have BEATEN the London total.
