Frenchie, of course - I'm already giving one for my son who will be in Lux by then.

H, probably not as much a blast as the school reunions I've been to in the last 2 years. They were for my year only, were organised by a couple of the guys in my year and both took place at a pub in St Albans. Dunno how they persuaded the landlord to allow us back for the second year.

Ta H, your wisk works wonders. It never seems the same when I make it. :(

I went to a family reunion at the begining of the year. Two cousins were there who are in their nineties. (much older than me as my mother came from a very long and extended family)

It was quite a sobering thought that I had not seen them in over forty years and in all probibility would not see them again.

Aw M Frenchie, that's sad. my Grandma was one of 40 first cousins, so i know how those generational things can go...i meet cousins i never knew i had..and some of them are much younger than me, as my grandma was one of the older ones...it's strange..

and you can borrow my whisk any time ;)

I'll see a relative born in 1946 who I didn't know about until 6 years ago! Her daughter (who by association I also didn't know about) is my second cousin, but she probably won't be there as she's a doctor.

On that note, I'll say good night all. Only got 3 hours sleep last night and was shattered by the end of work today. Can't have a recurrence as it's a busy period at work.

While doing some family tree research, I discovered a second cousin living in Newcastle. I asked her questions about her grandmother, my aunt, who only died fairly recently and she knew loads about her and sent me photos of someone I had never seen even on a photo. I also wanted to know about the man who had married my aunt, and despite asking all around the family up there knew nothing about him. It seems that the family did not like him one little bit, and it almost seems that he never existed.

It is a great shame when things like that happen and he is still a total mystery. My cousin said he came from Ireland and was much older than my aunt, yet their marriage certificate tells a different story. I wonder if we will ever find out more about him, as after six years of searching we are none the wiser.

Evening Millens, I am just off to bed, Hornette has just gone and Norway is under a table somewhere. <laugh>

If no one else turns up could you turn the lights out as you leave. ;)

that kind of story fascinates me. My cousin has done a family tree, there's hundreds of people on it, but it's all width and no depth..because my grandparents were first generation Brits and nobody knows their history, but we have photos from 'the old country'..i just don't know who the people are...so sad..i'd love to find out, i have no idea how!
